Another bad idea...

Is it wrong for me to be pushing Chrissie to get rid of our Buick LaSabre for a magnum wagon? Damn I wan't one of those!

First off, have you ever noticed that mostly 'old' people drive Buicks? :D

Secondly, even a 3.5 Magnum would be righteous to own, but it would have to be a dark color with tinted windows, like this;

I always hated the Magnum front end. I wonder how similar-year Charger sheetmetal would align. If it did, at that point the car would be incredibly sexy!

didnt someone build a charger nosed one?...fishy i recall you had that shot on your machine
Yeah, I went looking for it after an episode of Overhaulin' where they put a 300 nose on a Magnum. Don't think I have that shot anymore though but, it's a HUGE improvement over the stock Magnum nose.

You know, this is why I think the board's so fucking slow traffic-wise. Everything goes wildly off-topic within 10 posts, and I'm just as much to blame as anyone else. I just wanted to know what everyone though of the Polara wagon idea, and here we're talking about Mercedes' trash, which is exactly what the LX cars were other than the engines... "We'll just re-use the tooling we've abandoned and apply them to the Chrysler brands."

I often wonder how the new challenger front end would line up to the doors. Now that would be bad ass.

some reskin work and i think it would look good

as for the vintage iron..doc its a wagon which makes it cool nuff said

Well I'm sure you can guess what my opinion would be on a big C-body wagon....:) DO IT!!! Might have a time finding 69-73 fusey C-body 4 speed pedals...they are rare.

I have some pics of a 69 440/4spd 69 polara I'd share but Photobucket is down...will post them up later.

Sorry to pull it back off topic but.....

Oh, HELL YES!

Decent but, I think I like the Charger nose better.
I'm aware this one is a chop.

Looks good but, incredibly plain. Nothing exciting about it. From what I've heard, this is the way the Magnum was offered in Europe.

Dont listen to me Fishy! Back on topic!!!

Jass. I'm pretty sure Bob has the pedals for the '69 300 he had. Would those work in that wagon?

I think the Magnum wagon works much better with the Charger front clip than anything else.

The pedals, to my knowledge, would be the same as long as they're from a '69-'73 C-car, as Cow said. The problem is, unless someone ordered a 3-on-the-tree, there weren't manual-trans options. If Bob bought a set of pedals to put in a '69 300 it's one thing. They never built a 4-speed 300 after 1968, which is a much-different car. Pedals and linkage have to come from a low-line Plymouth or Dodge full-size with a 3-speed on the column. That's why they're so hard to find.

I've seena couple of sets of 69-73 4 speed pedals...that were actually 65-68 C-body units. I have detailed pics of 65-68 units, if you need to compare. Don't have any pics of the fusey units though...never seen a set for sale with pics.

I have come across a couple 69/70 Newports with a 383/2 and 3 on the tree though.

I'll leave the expertise to you, Cowmeister. I really don't know the C-body stuff that well, but damn it--I like that car. It's a lot of work, but from the nostalgia standpoint I'd love to have it.

Here's the pics of the 69 Polara 440/4speed....

Well regardless if you can come up with 4 speed pedals for it I'd still go with that wagon...and a twin turbo small block. That thing would be so off the radar it would make most peoples head spin when you popped the hood.

The 300 nosed Magnum is sold in Europe as a Chrysler 300 Touring. The Charger one looks wicked! I like the '08 Magnum best, one year only sheetmetal, '09 never came to be...

I love that Polara! A4 Silver and all!!!

Oh, no... with a car like that there would be no hood popping happening. Just show up at the nearby car show with a dyno, lay down some numbers, and let 'em wonder what the hell just happened. "Don't screw with that green station wagon!" I would actually consider leaving that car an automatic on the column, really.
