An interesting 'bird

That is an interesting car. Makes you wonder what kind of testing it went through?
An that one picture of something missing in the wheel well, what kind of testing was they was doing there?

I find two things wrong with that article:

1) The restoration. It looks fine as it is. I don't know why these people restore 10,000 mile cars when they don't need it.

2) Barrett Jackson. Enough said.

Otherwise that's a very neat car.

I don't buy the 10,000 mile part, not with all the scale on the under side and the nose mask being redone. But I do agree that the car should not be restored. Dave

Excatly 69.5 - once I see the magical Chev "frame off" I lose all interest and respect for the seller. While those that restored it may know what they are doing, a lameo as been asked either to sell it on cosignment or bought it for a flip. Either way - Psssttttt!

Besides the car doesn't have enough renown or desireable history to warrant any more than a garden variety Superbird.

yeah whenever i see "frame off" i generaly quit reading..eye the pic's and walk away
There was something to read there? I just saw the pics and a brief description of the EPA stuff, I didn't really care much about the intentions of the newest owner, just the cars' somewhat interesting history...

zactly...course i guess if you "need" to do a frame off it proves the car wasnt realy worth saveing or you just want to do it......points at rusty

I loved reading the continuing saga of the Holley road runner when they were doing the real "frame off" on the front subframe. While most would have found another shell, I think the dedication and attention to detail was incredible. Plus Holley has deep pockets.

but wait a minute,,,, now this thing is so freaking "historically significant" It's got to sit in some freaks museum for the rest of its unnatural life.
Should've been patched up and driven after the surplus auction, JMHO:huh:
