A lot of money...

The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
... for a Chevy.
This belongs to the shmuck that used to work for me.
Nice solid car, original Z 28, non-original engine. Fantastic body and paint. :)

I think he's too high by about $6000.

I truly hope it goes up in flames: I'd be willing to bet he's too cheap to have insurance on it. :)

He's also got my old '73 Charger listed on the same site, for $4000. Hasn't moved in at least 7 years and looks to now be a parts car. Sad, it was decent when he got it. He hasn't included any pics of the car itself, just the rebuilt 400 and some interior pieces, so you just know the car is toast...

Well, the '77 Z/28 was a mid-year reintroduction after a 3½-year hiatus, so it is somewhat rare. It also ranks as the ugliest 2nd-generation Z/28 (1974-'77 Camaros, with their "missing" valances, are hideous--but '74 gets a little credit for having the small rear glass), it's not particularly exciting to look at paint-wise (no offense, but silver's kind of meh), and it's not stock enough to be a restoration nor modified enough to be a credible street machine, so I'd say you're right on when it comes to the price--if not high by a couple of grand due to the NOM. I have a little soft spot for '77s since a friend of mine had one in high school, a black Type LT with a 350/4-speed, but I could never get past the fact that it looked like parts were left off below the bumpers.

IMO the only Z that was fun to drive was the '69's. The 70-1/2's hold a close 2nd.

Back in the day I raced my 'vert against a 70-1/2. He had a wilder cam, bigger Holley, 4:56 gears and rear tires about 14" wide. My 'vert is stock, 3:54 Dana and 9-1/2" tires. We came of the line even, but when I grabbed 2nd I jumped a fender length ahead and he never made it up. Kinda surprised both of us. :shifty:

It's unfortunate that the '69s were so ugly. The '67-'68 models were so much prettier, and being essentially the identical underpinnings and a scosche lighter, I imagine every bit as fun to drive if not a little moreso.

I'd imagine so, but the 68's and especially the 67's are rare as hell, even for a GM. I do know a guy that has a '68 Z. But I doubt that he would let ME drive it. :o

paint-wise (no offense, but silver's kind of meh)
Actually, in the light of day it looks pretty cool. I custom-mixed the silver base, substituting coarse metal for the fine metal in the formula, then put on a coat of clear with blue pearl and white pearl toners mixed in, followed by two coats of straight clear. God help anyone who tries to match it. :)

The car is originally black.

Ah... one of those "gotta see it in person" kind of paints. From the sound of it, that'll never photograph well. :D
