lookin to get my hands on a '78 Ram Charger. Had one years ago, and of course....LOVED it. Gotta get another, but something very inexpensive. If any one has one they are getting rid of in the south- western ontario or michigan area, PLEASE, let me know. send pics and info via kcambridge2000@hotmail.com...

Thanks :bravo:

Geez, too bad.
XL bought one last summer that was almost mint. Gave it away to a friend of his.

Ask him about it sometime. It was a jewel. :)

Well if I can find one here in the U.P. I'll let ya know, just so happens I'd love a 78 as well ;) or a mid/late 70's with the 78 grille:rolleyes:

well just an fyi..from 74-80 there all the same..the 74 has a unique frame and could be ordered with cut doors tho the body was still the same..75-80 were all 100% the same other than extreamly minor things that could be changed in an hour or 2 to make it year specific

I know where there's a 74ish model. Ran when parked, junk in the tank. I know the truck personally. He wants $850 for it the way it sits. If you're interested, pm me.

Not sure what years they were made, only positive about the '78. But without having to chop the body and doing work ( I suck at body work), im looking for the convertable years (whichever they were).

Anything up till 1980 when they became the Prospectors or whatever they were called.....those were solid hardtop rigs. I believe all RamChargers of the 70's were pop tops. :hmmm:

yeah the year set i spouted off is the removeable tops..mind you that a 74 and early 75 will have the cut doors..meaning the top portion of the door comes off with the top giveing it a much much cleaner look when the top is off...74 was the first year for ramcharger/trailduster..and 1980 was the last year of the removeable top and as far as i am aware the last year of the trailduster alltogether

my 86's top is removeable, it's just that putting it back on would be a B.I.T.C.H

There's a dead 79 out of town here, he's never given me a number and I've never had enough cash to wave in his face.

lol. Thanks guys. wasnt sure what years they were made. But now i guess im after a '74. That was the only thing i didnt like about mine, was the doors. So. the search continues. Thanks again all...

well the 74's are the hardest to find...i will say this tho.."if" you can find a set of the 74 f-glass door caps..you can turn any of the removeable top RC's into the 74 style..since its nothing more than a factory cut set of doors F-glass caps and the cut portion of the doors welded to the roof section...on a side note the 74s leak water thru the doors worse than the factory intended thus why they were 1 year only..

i just so happen to have a set of door caps for when i get back to my RC project

There's a '76 or '77 Ramcharger S/E here in town.
Has a recently re-built 440 with forged pistons and a bumpy cam in it.

I think it can be bought for under 3 Grand and it's not the usual rotbucket most are.
It needs rust repair, just not nearly as much.

Mark.
