I got a call last night from the fellow who bought that set of closed chamber heads last week.
He put them on his son's mild 440 (248@50) and did nothing else other than jet up his carb,
He said it had just under 400 RWHP before and after it made 438 RWHP and 470 ft lbs at the wheels...not bad for a set of iron heads [smilie=:: I should have got an extra $100 for them

He was really happy...that's probably 60-70 hp at the crank...I never asked if it was a 4 spd or auto.

Rob what heads were on it before ?? Thats a good pick up for iron heads. Looks like you know your porting. Nice job. I hope my 906 heads I ported are working that good. :) Ron

Jeez - not too bad from the old 516s at all Rob. How many sets were taken off and tossed for 915s or 906s over the years?

Mike...There's a reason they were tossed...and a good one...I NEVER want to see another set of 516's again :helpme: .there was $1500-$2000 worth of labor in those...same goes for the set I copied...no more thank you :dgt:
Ron..The young guy had a set of auto shop 906's on it...I couldn't tell you what might have been done to them but the guides were poor..(smoked big time on start up)
