That was the Dodge 024;

And that was still a Dodge, the Plymouth version was the Horizon TC3;

The Challenger name was never used by Dodge for a FWD car.

i KNOW there was another name for the sister to the charger tho..not the omni or the tc3..something else..maybe the horizon?

The 024 and TC3 both ceased to be at the end of 1983. Both cars were restyled (to the quad headlamps) and renamed for 1984. The Dodge version was called Charger and the Plymouth was the Turismo. The car pictured is a Charger, exactly like my old one except for the transmission. Mine was a 5-speed.

They're about $4,000 high on the price. With a 5-speed, the little carbureted 2.2L was at least enjoyable if not fast. The awfulmatic makes for a miserable driving experience all the way around.

The turbo wasn't available in the standard Charger or the Turismo. It only came in the Shelby Charger, and those were all 5-speeds.

The auto w/turbo could be had later in the Daytona version.

The Daytona is a totally different car. There is virtually no mechanical or body parts interchange between Charger/Turismo and the Daytona, other than the engine and the basic transaxle. Everything from the half-shafts out is completely different.
