I don't know how desirable this would be in Germany, but in the US 1982 is a low point in automotive engineering. :dgt:

And yet these are still considered desirable and have their own fan base. If this car were still EFI, it would bring that much stateside with no problem. Converted back to the carb hurts it, though most were... sad, too, because the "problematic" EFI's issues were actually usually very simple and easily cured. As usual, though, much has been written and convoluted over the years as to why it was went so wrong for Chrysler.

The engineering behind the EFI system was excellent, and the components were sound. The problem was more with the assembly line workers being lazy and guys servicing them forgetting the KISS principle rather than the actual system itself--also a big problem for ESA (Lean Burn) as well. Yes, they were computerized and yes, they were complex for their time, but things like basic air-system sealing and correct grounding were not only still important, they were downright critical. They also represent more than 90% of the problems Chrysler had with the system. That EFI was a good setup for its day, but UAW "craftsmanship" and production mechanics couldn't be bothered to execute or maintain it worth a damn. If you can find one without the carburetor retrofit, the biggest problem you'll have is finding parts. Service, maintenance, and day-to-day drivability are simply not issues with a completely-original system if it's installed properly.

It's not a high-performance engine, nor was it designed to be, but the system will adapt to minor changes in airflow (better exhaust, small cam upgrade, etc.) reasonably well.
