I would like to get a close look to see how they brought the dual exhaust out to the bumper corners.:hmmm:
 
It's very simple, actually. In the over-axle area, the pipe travels from inside the frame rails to outside, a la '70-'81 GM F-body/'68-up X-body. I've seen this option taken by many FMJ owners to get true full duals, and it actually works pretty well. If you look at the miniscule pictures closely enough, you can see the tailpipes are painted black and run along the lower edge of the quarter panel.

I wouldn't want that for 2 reasons, albeit, they are painted black, they are still somewhat visible and would you really want rear exit exhaust with a wagon with the backdraft that they have? :doh:
 
If you don't want it, then why did you ax? :hmmm: Do a short 45° bend right at the end so they exit at the corners, as was factory style on some earlier cars, or do a 90° and exit right behind the tires like other models had.

As a side note, a never-enforced MI law requires station wagon exhaust exit out the sides no less than 45° from perpendicular to the back bumper. The backdraft of which you speak can actually harm or even kill passengers if you drive with the back window down and exhaust pipes straight out the back (not a problem on the F/M-body wagons unless you drive with the hatch open).
