1974 Rambler - $15,900 - Lake Murray, SC - 1964 Rambler Typhoon Sport Coupe- According to information received, this is one of only 2,520 identically-equipped Rambler Classic 770 2-Door hardtops sold in '64 to showcase the new 232 cubic inch overhead valve six-cylinder motor. All Typhoon's had bucket seats & console, spinner wheel covers, special trim, and were painted Solar Yellow with a black roof. This one had a whopping list price of $3,131.40 in 1964!This example is was purchased by an older lady in South Dakota, and remained in her family's possession until the year 2000, and it has been in collectors' hands since. Car has 36K actual documented miles, but, because of federal odometer laws, we are selling "miles exempt". All owners from present back 1964 documented.
This is a very nice car and needs nothing to drive, show, and enjoy. The
232 six-cylinder is peppy and smooth, and the car drives effortlessly. It is very nicely detailed, has a straight rust-free body, very nice original interior & trunk compartment, and good radial tires. It was recently mechanically restored, and AIR CONDITIONING was professionally installed in 2012. Documentation includes the original window sticker, manuals, ownership history, restoration & repair receipts, and much more.
