1974 Jeep CJ5 - $10,995 - O'Fallon, IL - This 1974 Jeep CJ 5 is located in our Louisville KY showroom. The CJ or Civilian Jeep is a public version of the famous Willys Military Jeep made popular from World War II. Once the war came to an end and the GIs came home they grew accustomed to the little go anywhere capability of their Jeeps and even enjoyed going through the mud and climbing hills in them. Willys heard their cry and began in 1944 producing Jeeps for the public. This would prove to be a great success surviving seven generations and three corporate parents until 1986 when the model officially ended. The CJ series have been quite desirable and to this day is a platform that diehard off roaders die for. This particular CJ has had a ton of work done thru out the years to get to the point it is today. The original 304 V8 puts out a ton of power to the monstrous 35x12.5 tires. The front axle is the standard full floating Dana 30 which many feel is one of the best set ups put there. Especially with the Warn Locking hubs upfront not to mention brand new bushings as well as a new Rancho shock steering stabilizer. The interior has a set of Leon Rosser Seats upfront with black vinyl covering them. Part of the THINK series it is a solid seat with good support and rather comfortable for a four wheeling seat. The rear end has the standard Dana 44 with 3.73 gears so you can actually go down the highway. This all in all is a great jeep that can either be taken to that complete next level with just a little work or keep it the way it is and have a great Daily Driver that is sure to get a ton of attention. Options on this 1974 Jeep CJ5 include; AM/FM/ Cassette Seat Belts Vinyl Interior Power Steering and Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires.
