1972 Plymouth Scamp - $21,900 - Grand Rapids, MI - Perhaps, no other name is synonymous with muscle car than MOPAR, and this exciting 1972 Plymouth Scamp plays the part to a tee. Finished in Sublime green over black an white interior along with its Air Grabber style hood and rear spoiler, this Scamps aggressive style gives no shortage of eyeball and curb appeal. This car also has plenty of Go to back op the show. Under the hood of this Scamp is a professionally built, all stock in appearance, 360 CID V8 4bbl carb, this is linked to a Torque Flite automatic transmission and sure-grip rear axle. Other highlights include power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, auxiliary gauges, stock wheels, white letter tires and classic Bumble Bee stripe.
The car is fully restored featuring a new interior with near perfect dash, excellent paint all around, and a fully detailed engine compartment. Mechanically, this 1972 Scamp is completely sorted, pulls strong through the gears, the automatic transmission shifts timely, the suspension is tight, steering and braking are responsive...Oh, it is fast too. What a great opportunity to acquire quality Mopar Muscle at a reasonable price. Cars with this much appeal hold value and are investments.

A low-performance car is never an investment, even when it's made into a high-performance one. This is an economy car dressed up as something it isn't. It seems to be a reasonably well-done car, but when you build something like this, you need to love the car beyond the money and realize you'll never be solvent on it. When you cut corners by painting the bumpers and leaving the column automatic (I'm a fan, most aren't), or do something moronic like put a Dodge stripe on a Plymouth, you're not helping yourself.

Maybe they'll find someone stupid enough to blow "matching-numbers, show-worthy-resto" money on a low-level econobox A-body worth less than a third of asking, but I sincerely hope not. One could buy and build a '72 Scamp exactly to their own tastes for well under half of asking... with no questions about where other corners might have been cut.
