1970 Plymouth Cuda - $54,900 - Halton Hills, ON - 1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda For Sale - Stunning Lime Light Exetrior, Trans Am Cuda LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1970 ‘Cuda AAR The Plymouth Barracuda and sport model ‘Cuda variant had very humble beginnings, starting out as a redesigned Valiant to take on Ford’s Mustang. Although it didn’t take off in popularity like the Mustang, it developed a loyal following. In 1970, Plymouth decided to step up its game and while the design/name only lasted until 1974 the ‘Cuda has gone down in history as one of the most attractive and desirable muscle cars ever built. The new for 1970 E-body which was shorter and wider removed all commonality with the Valiant. As well at this time, the big three car manufacturers had racing programs that resulted in some of the most impressive and desirable street cars of the muscle car era. The Trans Am racing series in particular created some of the models synonymous with performance - BOSS 302, Camaro Z/28 and of course the MOPAR twins being the Challenger T/A and the All American Racer “AAR” Cuda. The AAR ‘Cuda cars qualified for three pole positions but did not win, however, the street version provided showroom success. As well, the Mopar muscle cars were certainly known for the "high impact" colors and also sported some of the best go faster stripes during this era. The distinguishing features of the AAR ‘Cuda are: the 340 6-barrel engine, grill and hood along with the tops of the fenders and doors painted in Organasol Black, Fresh Air Hood Scoop, the very unique full car length racing stripe called a Strobe Stripe which held the AAR logo, the race track car inspired side exhaust that exited in front of the back wheels, Front “Eyebrow” Spoilers and a Rear “Duck Tail” Spoiler. The 1970 AAR ‘Cuda was a one year model sensation with only 2,744 produced during the months of March and April 1970. In the six week production period there were 1,604 equipped with 3-speed automatic transmissions. This 1970 Plymouth AAR ‘Cuda has been nicely restored and has the ‘Trans AM’ fender tag from its April 3, 1970 production date at the Hamtramck Michigan Plant. Finished in one of Plymouth’s famous “High Impact” colors, Lime Light. The paint has an electrifying attraction to the eye and has great depth. As one of the rarest and sought after colors it certainly highlights the beautiful design lines and coordinates well with the Black-out Hood and Black Race Stripes. Pull the hood pins, lift up the lightweight fiberglass hood and view the familiar Mopar orange 340 T/A engine with 3x2 barrel carburetors which produce a respectable 290 HP. Connected to a bullet proof Torque Flight automatic transmission, the ‘Cuda could definitely perform achieving 0-60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 14.4 seconds at 100 miles per hour. Nicely optioned with high-back black bucket seats, power steering, power brakes, woodgrain panel console, Slap Stik Auto Shifter, Driver Remote/Dual Painted mirrors, fog lights, Rallye wheels with period correct Goodyear Polyglas GT tires and factory side-exit exhaust with bright chrome tips. The AAR ‘Cuda is among the rarest and desirable E-Body Plymouth's produced and to this day they remain a highly collectible car. This car is a great opportunity to obtain a restored AAR ‘Cuda in a desirable high impact color and will provide you the race track feel and power to drive and enjoy.
