1970 Plymouth Cuda - $350,000 - Orcutt, CA - A world class Cuda 440-6 ... Second picture shows actual appraisal by a respected leading appraiser. His position is he appraised a one of a kind. Reading fender tags from top to bottom and left to right: M31, M88, N41, N95, N96, CTD, J45, J54, L31, M21, M25, C26, G36, H31, J25, V1X, A01, A22, A36, B51, C16, FE5, PRX9, 000, 311, 073537, E87, D32, BS23, VOE, 136152, Second fender tag reads: END, N97, R22, V1X, Y14, 26, BS23VOE136152 Forth picture breaks down the codes. Factory codes confirm one highly optioned Cuda. Interestingly the production plant had a no paper trail policy regarding Broadcast sheets only on California built Cuda's. When this pre-sold Cuda received a rare California Build Sheet this strayed from normal policy. As you would expect from the finest stock unrestored 440-6 Cuda coupe available the broadcast or build sheet is pristine and not a reproduction. Broadcast or Build sheet mean the same.
Very few 70 Cuda's received both front and back elastomeric color keyed rallye red bumpers. If you see this rare option do confirm: "Are the bumpers factory or repainted?"... maybe showing their age? And if another has original highly sought after FE5 rallye red paint, 8-track stereo, fish gills along both sides, turn down exhaust denoting a California built car, insulation package also denoting California build, shaker, pre-sold, six-way driver's leather seat, over head console, two fender tags, tons of options, and can match the shocking stock original condition of my factory unrestored Cuda, then mileage or history will fall suspect on comparison. We have just separated this Cuda from the others. This car stands alone because they are only original once and not seen in this original condition.
Not found in a barn or field this Cuda is a shock to the eyes. It is beautiful. Finding a Mopar in a barn or field is extremely exciting. Restored cars are awesome. Finding the diamond of them all still original as equipped, loaded and a Cuda 440-6 shaker car, unrestored appearing like new and never seen a mouse... amounts to first place. First place feels good and assures $$ value. I put eight miles on the Cuda today. What a mind blower. There is no faking this authentic stock car. The sound & feel.. the look. Intoxicating to see a car 45 years old, unrestored and beautiful. This amazing condition is no accident.
This is a trailer Queen with no apologies. The goal from day one was to best all others in the bid for top survivor. Best preservation comes from an obsessive compulsive behavior personality making for a Cuda that stands alone. As custodian of preservation I love the challenge. I am the poster child for car preservation. The original owner and close friend did the same. The original family a pioneer family settled in our Valley. This car was prized by the family.
The next owner of this pristine Cuda will receive a clear history. So carefully examine this Cuda time capsule and museum piece presenting like new in so many ways.
California cars are known to be better car. And one city in California has better weather then the rest of the state. Santa Maria, Calif is a cool climate geographic area even in summer. It's been a blessing Santa Maria remains mild and constant in weather. Car friendly weather has halted nature's attack on this priceless Cuda . Shocking original exterior and interior. Walking around this car you will repeat the words "unrestored gorgeous."
Now offered publicly for the first time. This car is smooth and tight yet ferocious with downward pressure on the go pedal. Take the following statement to the bank: "If you can find an exact Cuda like this, it will need restoration or have need of some restoration where this Cuda does not. Or "This Cuda needs no restoration where other cuda's will need some." Powerful statements reflected in the amazing appraisal Of $350,000.00.
* I'm a commercial helicopter pilot. Possible trade for Bell 206 Jet Ranger or R-44. Any R-22 would have to be same as new.
Check out the partial list of factory released items. Or pick an area of this car perhaps tail lights. They are original unrestored right down to the light bulbs. Same for head lights, fog lights. Now walk around this car to have it explained in clear precise history. It will dawn on you at some point this car is un-matched in so many ways.

Your not going to see the likes of this on another Six Pac coupe.
Special documentation includes (3) three purchase contracts.. a first for a Cuda disclosed in print. Two contracts when ordering out of Santa Maria, California. First two contracts placed with the New York Compu-store Brokerage firm. Compu stands for "computer" in 1970. This brokerage took orders from all over the U.S. and abroad. Think of N.Y. Compu-store as an old school way to order your 70's Cuda without talking to a Dealership. Adding further rarity this car had an out of town dealership specified for delivery, skipping our local Chrysler Plymouthdealership.
The first contract ordered a green car with green bumpers. New York Compu-store brokerage advised green bumpers weren't available. The second contract ordered the best collector color FE5 rallye red with color keyed isomeric bumpers, while adding additional options not on the first order. The third delivery contract from Culver City Chrysler Plymouth in southern California feels like going back in time to Culver City Chrysler Plymouth in 1970. All three contracts on separate letter heads specify a "rallye dash" completely missed by the factory. Here then is a factory mistake in writing. Someone might have been smoking rope because the order was placed. The dealership "Culver City Chrysler Plymouth" inspecting the first two contracts and their own contract as delivering Dealership, installed free of charge the rallye dash noting same in writing. Free installation fulfilled the factory pre-paid order.
A factory mistake adds $$ dollar value when you can nail it down as fact in writing. Show me another Cuda Receiving factory ordered rallye dash in this way.. clear proof the factory makes mistakes. As you can see this car give you precise history. Flawless history is an important aspect of this one of a kind Cuda. Important history separates this fine Cuda from others. Options, build, history, disclosure, paper work, and condition all combine to point to this car as "one of a kind."
Rare Dealership issued temporary operating permit is included.. once taped to the inside right passenger windshield at drive off. Plus the first California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) registration card with registration cards up to the present.
This Cuda remains 7 miles from documented original home still in weather friendly Santa Maria, California. Naturally the original owner's manual, passing safety manual, window sticker, Build Sheet, and full history in original print come with this Cuda. Clear emails over the years track the car's every move through only two owners whom remain friends and now the history. All documents are original and include color copy of the original pink slip. Pinks really were pink small and unique titles back then.
Compare this 440 six shaker car to the Chrysler "promotional" Cuda seen in advertisements: What did they do with that gorgeous promotional Cuda showing high profile race drivers of the day standing along side? That promotional Cuda was also FE5 red, over head console and one piece head liner, plus both red isomeric bumpers ... The list continues ... check, check, check, the options on my Cuda and the factory promotional Cuda appear to be the same.
Original engine. Look into the valve cover breather cap when car is running. Pure pleasure seeing no blow bye and there is no oil consumption. It will not drip oil or spot the ground. What you can't see inside the engine can trick your investment, But with this car you get the stock engine. You get the born on car standard block. Born on car means crank, pistons, rings, bearings, rods, heads, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, carbs. Expect this stock original Cuda to easily clock 13.6 second quarter miles at 103 mph on the narrow poly glass tires. I received a call asking if this engine is indeed factory stock and not rebuilt? The answer is yes this engine is factory stock and representative of blue chip investment grade "not rebuilt" engine. Thank you for your call and ask any other questions.
Some sources report the real stock horse power of the 440-6 closer to 450 horse power considering the six pack on slicks and gears can dip into 12 second quarter miles. This particular stock Cuda engine is blistering fast from day one. It will get sideways on you in a heart beat on the poly glass tires. I don't like to boil the $900 poly glass tires but the power is there. The Fabulous stock 440-6 and hemi cars both advertised factory 490 ft lbs torque . The 440-6 makes that 490 ft lbs torque 600 rpm sooner then hemi giving the triple carb "Six Smack" engine early torque advantage. Good chance of "Six Smacking" the Hemi is to stage one at the traffic lights. Mopars at their best. An original car insures blue chip status in ownership. Original also means you will be ask to share your car so others may see a stock factory released car. "They are only original once" and that really matters.
Valvoline motor oil is always used plus additional aviation cam guard, stopped time inside this engine. Note: The product Cam guard stops acid formation in oil. Constant care, limited driving, pampering to achieve a fine original car. Plus clear history, options galore, paper work unique to this car. Show me another with three contracts, immediate dealer installed trailer hitch, Build sheet from the California plant. The differences represent the awesome appraisal. Appraised by Jerry R.
