1970 Dodge Challenger - $48,000 - Beachwood, OH - Plum Crazy exterior ... Black vinyl buckets & center console ... 440 CID V-8 ... Tremec 5-speed ... Air conditioning ... Fully restored ...
Dodge’s Challenger lineup for 1970 boasted the widest array of engines available in the entire Dodge line—nine in total. From the venerable slant six to the fire breathing 426 Hemi, the Challenger had an answer for anyone’s needs—from practical grocery getter to tire spinning, road eating, raw American muscle.
Of the latter persuasion is this 4 barrel carbureted 440 Magnum equipped Challenger R/T, finished in Plum Crazy. Benefiting from an unbelievable rotisserie restoration, this car has a mirror-like finish that is further enhanced by Black R/T body stripes and vinyl roof. The chrome and bright work similarly show as new. Adding additional pop is its rear spoiler, rally wheels, and chrome tipped dual exhaust.
The interior is equally sporty, and features Black vinyl bucket seats and a center console. The seating areas, carpeting, dashboard, headliner, and console are all in excellent condition, exhibiting only the most minimal wear. You will also appreciate this car’s power steering, power brakes, AM radio, and factory air conditioning.
But this car is not just about good looks. Under the hood is where it counts, and this car does not disappoint. Generating 375 horsepower and 480 lbs.-ft. of torque, this 440 Magnum packs a punch. A brand new Tremec 5-speed transmission allows for complete driver control. One tap of the accelerator reveals a satisfying exhaust note that will bring a smile to your face.
Originally a non-R/T car equipped with a 318, this car was completely transformed in its show quality restoration, which was completed just 1,700 miles ago. Its mufflers have been replaced with MagnaFlow mufflers, but the stock ones will be included with sale, as will the original steering wheel.
If a stunningly restored Challenger R/T in the right color is what you desire, this is the one for you!

Considering what he spent to make this poser from a non-R/T 318 car his price doesn't seem as insane as some others. If it were a true 440 R/T with the Tremec upgrade his price would be closer to reality, but still high. :hmmm:

I'll never understand the reasoning behind the factory clone. I mean, OK, you want a Challenger R/T with a 440, but you're seriously going to spend that kind of money to duplicate everything about the car, and essentially upgrade nothing? Yeah, the trans is a worthwhile upgrade, but stone stock under the hood escapes me... I don't mean a stock engine, either, but all those little details? No, he didn't nail it 100% but he made a hell of an effort. I guess if it's your bag and you're going to keep it forever, that's great, but don't expect it to add up to a bunch when the time comes to sell. He'll probably get close to asking on this, and that's not even actually bad, but the seller is apparently well aware that what he's got is worth less than half of a real-deal car, despite investing the same amount he would've on a real-deal car. That's gotta hurt, but I give him some credit.

I'm about done with them all being purple, though. Other than that, I like the hell out of this one, even at that price.
