An animal like this deserves more info & pics than this. :( These things are iconic and the "holy grail" of the AMC's. If you want competitive bidding at your auction get more info out there to attract the interest.

I was racing at Union Grove drag strip on a regular basis when these things came out. There were three guys with new SC/Ramblers back then that were cleaning house. No matter what they ran against, most of the time the other guy ended up walking away shaking his head and mumbling something about, "It's a god damned Kelvinator"
 
Agreed. I don't think anyone expected to get their ass handed to them by a Rambler with a cartoon paint job, 390 or not. This was their M-code Dart, so to speak. I imagine that Union Grove probably saw a higher concentration of these than the rest of the country, and Kelvinator or not they probably gave it a little more respect than the crowd at Lions or a Bronx street racer.
