1968 AMC AMX - $29,900 - Mundelein, IL - NOT A JAVELIN This is a RARE and real.. 1968 AMX Donohue model, Original (US Made, all metal) TWO SEAT MUSCLE CAR...Only a few, but just enough after market parts (tires and etc) to not be able to say she's "Totally original" She was re-Painted in 2004 +/- sugggestions of being originally Red, White and Blue...now she looks showroom ready in high Gloss Black!!. Original chrome including bumpers and window trim... hand painted pin striping.. Shadow Mask... The interior was redone in 2006 +/-. The odometer is showing 34K miles. For the last 5 years it has only been driven about 25 miles per year. It is stored covered and inside an airport hangar, a true Garage Queen..and deservedly so! She is Black w/grey shadow mask, and black interior. Now for the "HOT STUFF" you got to hear her run......branded optional Hurst Go-Pak Package 4 speed, 390 cid, Edelbrock intake, Posi-Trac, Holly 650 double pumper. Original air dams....Dual side exhaust, rear spoiler..factory headers, 99% tires. Original Donahue car hey, then why ruin it and change the paint scheme. :doh:

It couldn't be an original Donahue car. The Mark Donahue signature cars were all 1970 models, all Javelins, and none were tricolor. The only use of the tricolor paint scheme in '70 was on the "Trans Am" Javelin, a bona-fide performance package which was actually a Ronnie Kaplan edition. The Donahue package was originally supposed to be on SSTs, but came down to literally a decal on a ducktail spoiler. 1969 was the first year AMC built a red/white/blue factory car, and that was the Super Stock AMX. There were no tricolor 1968s, so while this car might have been painted that way, it definitely wasn't original.

Mark Donahue dominated Trans Am in 1968 and '69 in a Camaro.
