1966 Plymouth Satellite - $25,998 - Volo, IL - This is a real 383 big block car with a 4-speed and new cold air conditioning system. Really sharp color combination. The body is straight and fits nice. The black paint is polished to a high gloss. Bumpers have been rechromed. Correct reproduction upholstery with the inlaid pattern. New headliner, visors, carpets and door panels. Clean motor and trunk compartments. Excellent mechanical condition. The owner says you could drive it anywhere. The front end has been gone through, brakes redone, new dual exhaust with stainless tips, coilover rear shocks, new parking brake cables and more. The only difference between this and a GTX is emblems and it's $10,000 less. great combination of 4 speed, air and great colors!

At first, this looks like a pretty nice car, but then you get to details done so badly it's almost frightening. The AC compressor bracketry might work, but it screws up the already-bad engine bay worse. Everything under that hood was painted black--wires, lines, ballast resistor, etc. The Corvette steering wheel and cheese-monkey '80s $7 shifter knob need to go back to a GM. I'm not sure who thought the exhaust tips were a good plan, but that person needs to be kicked in the groin using excessive force and steel toes. But I saved the best for last: the fuckin' armrests actually caused me to laugh aloud.

There's a lot of good here, and it's a pretty overall package. I could see paying $12K, maybe even $15K if you're head-over-heels in love with the '66-'67 Plymouth. Alas, it's a '66-'67 B-body--the also-rans in the value department. Even with all the glaring errors fixed, $20,000 would be "all the money" on this one. You could get out what you've got in, but as a long-term investment you're better off to keep shopping.
