1966 Dodge Charger - $28,500 - Redmond, OR - 1966 Dodge charger powered by a fresh rebuilt 361 mopar engine. In Plum Purple paint. This is year one of the Dodge Charger, considered by many to be the best looking muscle car line ever made. This car was purchased from the estate of a man who had invested well over $30,000 in a full frame up rebuild on this car. This car has a very high end paint job, totally taken apart to paint. New interior thru out. This piece of Detroit history is absolutely beautiful, in a Plum Purple color. With original Data tag still in sleeve under the hood, and one of the coolest 4 bucket seat interiors , I have ever seen. In my opinion, this is one of the nicest restorations I have seen done in many years. This Car is ready for any car show or cruise in. Runs and Drives great, with lots of power and torque. This 1966 Charger will grab attention at every stop light. Matching Plum Purple rims. If a super rare and crazy cool mid 60s muscle car is what you are looking for, this might be the one for you. These cars are getting very difficult to find, and almost impossible in this condition. This is most definitely an investment car, that will go up and up in value as you drive around and look cool. Price $28,500.00 VIN#XP29E61214318

This guy's insane, $28,500 for the least desirable Charger ever built, that has the least desirable V8 available in it, a horrible, non-OEM paint job and pitted moldings. If he paid $30,000 to have this done he got majorly ripped off. :dgt:

"Very high-end paint job" apparently funded by the California Orange Growers' Association. The leftover paint used on the rolling stock managed to make one of the ugliest 5-spoke wheels extant even uglier.

I'm thinking "rebuilt 361" actually means "two cans of Engine Brite were expended on a long-ago repainted 361" because I have a hard time grasping someone spending that kind of money on an engine only to stick the two-barrel carb back atop it, then let it deteriorate to its current appearance. I mean, if he was shooting for original, he knew he was failing miserably with the color choice and texture, so it makes no sense to not find a dirt-cheap 383-4V (they're essentially worthless these days) and go through that engine. What's up with the thermostat housing? If you're asking almost thirty grand for a car, shouldn't you at least attempt to make it look like it's not actively spewing coolant?

Oregon car. If someone spent more than $8,000 on this "restoration" they got completely hosed, because $8,500 would be a hard sell on this pig. Adding $20,000 to that number is just insane. Clean 383-4V/4-speed '66 Chargers in attractive, smooth colors don't bring that kind of money.
