1942 Chrysler - Auction - Charlotte, NC - 125-1942 Chrysler Windsor Business Man’s Coupe- Very rarely do you see a 1942-model automobile, but even less rare is a 1942 Chrysler Windsor C-34 Business Coupe. It’s one of only 250 3-window coupes built in ’42 as production was stopped on January 1 because of WWII. The 42’s have a flathead 120HP six cylinder and this example has a Fluid Drive transmission that performs correctly. It is also fitted with a rare sun visor. Please note the gorgeous red “plastic” trimming on the interior and door trim. It was made out of soy beans as materials were scarce in ’42.

This particular example was purchased out of the Michael Leith collection this year, and since has had a cosmetic restoration including dis-assembling the engine bay, detailing the engine, and cleaning and repainting of the original under carriage.

This is a very collectible car.

This vehicle will be offered at the BIG THURSDAY AUCTION, September 18, 2014 in Charlotte, NC, and is not for sale prior to that date. We offer both live bidding and phone bidding. That marbled interior trim is just awesome. I really like this one, despite the visor. I know those are very functional on these types of cars, but they're just so freakin' ugly. I'd love to see what the final number is on this one... for the reasons stated in the ad, you don't often see a '42 anything.
