1937 Dodge D5 - Auction - Owls Head, ME - This 1937 Dodge D-5 Sedan, # D537944TS , was purchased by the current owner in 1997. At that time the condition of the car was fair to poor, but the important parts and items were all there. Over the next 6 (1997-2003) the current owner did the restoration and went through just about everything on the car. This included – the entire brake system, complete engine rebuild, clutch, pressure plate and other mechanical items. The body is all original steel. The goal was to keep the car as original as possible, while still being safe and usable. At the time or restoration it was painted the silver/grey color that it is now. Many items have been re-chromed. The interior was completely done over including a new headliner. All new rubber on every window. 1937 is the last year for the opening
windshield and cowl mounted headlights. It has suicide doors and a gull wing opening hood. The car is very dependable to drive and draws a crowd most anywhere.
The owner rates the following on a scale of Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent.
Engine: Very Good Body: Very Good Chassis/Frame: Very Good Tires: Good Coachwork/Interior: Very Good Electrical Equipment: Good
Transmission: Very Good Paint: Very Good Overall Condition: Very Good Vehicle sold with Current Maine State Registration

I get nervous when I click on listings for elderly Mopars, because I'm always afraid it'll be some Chevy-powered (and underslung) street-rod abortion. Other than the silly decal on the air cleaner, this is a pretty old girl.
