Had a blast at the track today,made a total of 6 runs with the final run of 12.33 as my best. [smilie=c:
My first run of the day was a 12.63 and I was pumped,the BFG's was spinnin hard all through first gear till I adjusted the pressure and my burnout. 30 psi and a BIG burnout seemed to work best and for the final run it finally hooked up and I knew it was gonna be a good run..that is until the end of the run when it got starved for fuel and layed down just before the lights giving me only 101 mph. [smilie=s: It had been runnin 110 all day and if not for the fuel problem a high 12.20 at 112 or so could have been possible. [smilie=e:
The 60 foot time for that 12.33 run was 1.78,not to shabby I reckon. My second fastest run was 12.42 and 110 mph with a 1.91 60 foot spinnin the tires. [smilie=e:
I am VERY pleased with the results and now I want 11's........ [smilie=e:

First run of the day.Barney snapped this pic as I was pulling into the staging beams....the T-Bird didn't stand a chance,it ran a 15.25 to my 12.63.

My next run was a late model 'Vette..smoked him also. [smilie=w:

I was beat 2 out of my 6 runs.One was this this beauty...

It is running a 451 with nitrous and a four link rear,he was runnin mid 10's all day.
The other was a 10 second first generation Camaro.

beep you done good! your best 12.33 & my 12.38 would make for a (in the voice of Ed Sullivan) a really good shoow! a real heads ups drag race. two fine mops launching at the same time.

sounds like your getting that puppy dialed in right.

my best mph is 106. i run out of gear. 410's with 28" rubber. Firefighter has a TM7 & an 850 dp to crown my 440 with, that should help me pull throught the traps & drop my et's.

Cuda's going on a big diet this winter to shed some of its beef. a few engine mods & she'll be coming out of the box deep into the 11"s.

Thanks Greg,I was running a 26" tire with 3:55's. I'm thinking of going to 3:91's and a 28" tire but I'm undecided. [smilie=e:
Fuel system mods are planned for next year and I think my drive shaft is forked as I have a nasty vibration beginning about 100mph and different tires and wheels did not change it. [smilie=s:
The RR could stand to lose some weight also..I was running with the spare tire and jack still in the trunk. [smilie=e:

Now get the fuel system fixed before ya hurt it.....you`ll be needin` a roll bar before ya know it [smilie=e:

OH..and about the vibration...If it quits when ya let off at the big end, check your pinion angle (2-4 down depending on aids) ..If you have no traction aids (slapper bars, cal-tracs, adjustable snubber,etc) your gonna be winding up the rear alot with stocker springs....not that I would know this for any reason [smilie=r:

I'm using a pinion snubber and I think? the vibration was still there after i let off....

It had the same vibration on the rear wheel dyno earlier this year and only occurs at 100mph and beyond.
There is a driveshaft shop near here,I'm gonna have it checked to be sure.

Hell ya!!!! That’s hallin the mail buddy! I would like to get mine to the track to se what it will do. She is all stock as you know so it would be fun to see the times before anything is changed.

Congrats on a great first outing. Right now you and Jr would also make a good race but his 383 is pretty much peaked out without some changes. Just for comparison his Darts best was a 12.31 @ 110 with a 1.77 60 and thats with 3.91's and 26.25 tall tires. Your car did great and I know there is alot more in your combo. Actually a good hooking car can run 12.0's with 110 mph and I am sure you will pick up mph and be in the 11's in no time. What convertor are you using ?? Oh and we are putting brand new SS springs on Jrs Dart and hope to 60 ft better when we take it back out next month. Congrats on a great running combo. [smilie=e: Rom
