Do whatever it is that needs doing. Take your time. It’ll keep coming up when you least expect it. There’s no deadline.

I just narrowed it down to “search this thread” and typed in head gasket. Super handy that he wrote out absolutely everything including what size he thought he needed, and ultimately ended up buying.

I believe Cometic will make custom gaskets, but I have no idea if that’s where he got them.

    Lost a friend

I wish I could’ve actually met him. I talked to him on the phone a couple of times. Each time it started with a simple question, and then an hour and a half later I’d learned about his vintage car stereo addiction. Or something else. Always engaging. Always took time to help, either here or...

‘56 Chrysler parked since the bicentennial.

So it’s been a while. I moved to asheville, got a job buiding old cars, and the shop shuts down. I decide I want to work, but I’m tired of having a job. So I decide to open my open my own business fixing old cars in a town I just moved to one year prior. I’ve got no customer base, I’m...

    various years of truck parts

Cherokees have the same bolt pattern as B, C bodies etc.. I ran police wheels on my ‘84 XJ for a while. Plenty of wheel options for a Cherokee.

    New (to me) Truck

I was just screwing around. I really ought to consider using emojis.. Even my mom uses them, but I’m apparently set in my ways.

    New (to me) Truck

I believe LMC truck is selling repopped dash plastic for the second gen ram. I have a customer with a ‘01 2500, and he needs one in barfy beige. I seem to remember find them in their catalog for under $threehundo. Jass, I think agate is spanish for grey..

    AAAAARGGGGG! I Hate Chevs !!!!!

I was doing work on cars in my garage as a side job for the past ten years. I specialize in old foreign sports cars, but will work on anything pre OBDII happily, and would take in the occasional newer car for a friend. I finally had to start refusing to work on anything GM or VAG. They’re so...

    Dodgedifferent2 goes hotroddin

Wait.. you can bolt a nailhead to a mopar 4 speed? I turned one down because I would be stuck with Buick’s two speed slush box, or the expensive switch pitch

Finally I have a Mopar again.

Here’s mine. It’s an ‘84, and I’ve replaced everything but the headlights on it, and even they don’t work right.. the whole running gear has been switched from ‘84 2.5/BW4/NP207 to various years of TJ and YJ 2.5/AX5/231.. The original motor shredded the distributor gear, the BW4 had no first...

What do you fellers up north use for gloves?

Hey all.. been a while. I recently went outside to get one of my cars running (finish reassembling it) and while the weather was above freezing, my hands were just about done in about fifteen minutes. I don’t have a walled in garage, and my tools are in a room in the back of my carport that...

Car of the Week: 1968 Excalibur Series I

Here are a number of things Brooks Stevens designed that I would rather use/drive/look at than an Excalibur. No offense to Ze Germans who designed it originally, or people who like them.

Car of the Week: 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix

My buddy just restored a ‘69 Grand Prix SJ(?). Apparently they’re pretty rare. His is a sort of red/pink color that was apparently fairly rare. I’d guess at the motor, but get it wrong.. I want to say that it’s a 428. It’s got a white gut, and he’s done a really nice job with it. It wasn’t...
