I paid through the nose to get my coronet rust replaced and thought it was top notch back in the day, but looking at the car now with my years of accumulated knowledge since then I see a ton of short cuts and poor body/panel alignment and fit, and even very poor stamping on the reproduction rear...
I totally agree with you Doc on the LED headlights...I've yet to see a set I think look good. Your conversion suggestion might just be the way to go...going to look into it myself.
Hooked up a manual oil pressure gauge and cold start jumped up to 60lbs at idle, and over 80lbs at about 1500rpm, went for a drive and once up to operating temps (180* T-stat) it showed approx 28lbs at idle and 60lbs at 1500rpm....so oil pump and filter are fine I think. Checked the oil...
When I was living in suburbia saw one coming down our street, my neighbour and I had just enough time to run out and stand on his front lawn...we wished we would have had time to strike some scandalous poses. 😄
Has a very fancy and high tech hose running down below the motor.... ;) Yes the hose is still in place and when it was running it did not appear to be pushing out any more pressure than usual.
But I guess I could hook a longer hose and run it out and away from the engine compartment and see if...
Well did some checking this evening on things that could potential cause an oil smell...
-Both NP205 and NV4500 fluid levels are good, vents are hooked up and appear to be functioning.
-No oil hitting the exhaust anywhere
-no oil residue on the inside of the exhaust tailpipe, nor on my post...
Last few years I have been starting to get the Any-light-is too-bright migraines...even had one hit me at work, and I work nights, but the street and car lights were too much and even with my sunglasses on I struggled to get home.
Did an oil change on Patches 4 days ago and every day I've used it going to and from work I have been getting a hot, burning oil smell from under the hood. I don't have any visible new oil leaks, none that have not been there for quite some time, but I can't determine where it's coming from...
I've done a bunch of those bonzia runs...20, 24, 28 hour runs there and back with no sleep, or maybe an hour or two at a rest stop somewhere. Might be a little easier for me since I have been trucking most of my life. ;)
Hope the migraine doesn't beat you up too badly...rest up and relax for a...
I agree the rails are handy to have, all my 1/4" drive and some of my spare misc sockets, 3/8" and 1/2" drive are on rails now as well. But most of the sockets were in my case before so I have always just made trip after trip back and forth to grab sockets...so nothing has really changed for...
62 is my favorite as well...it has everything I would want in one...409/4spd, steel wheels, and that colour is amazing! It'll go a lot higher than that in the last 30 seconds... ;)
Decided to clean up my tools a little bit the last couple days.
First I have been using an old Sears Craftsman socket kit my parents bought me sometime around 1989, love the set and have used it on everything since I got it but the old case has been slowly falling apart and in the last few...
Snapped some pics of the Coronet in the snow when moving it from the garage and back into the shop....
Hate where the shop that did the inspection put the sticker...I assumed they'd put it down low in the bottom corner NOT at the top...oh well just has to stay on until this coming...
Well the physical toll from my clutch work on Patches is a very inflamed and sore left knee...hurts and barely bends so hard to walk, But not having to pay a shop to rape me on the work a sore knee is a cheap enough price that I'll recover from fairly quickly, unlike a huge repair bill. ;)
