Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Over here, any sign of VIN tag tampering leads to a massive headache. By Federal Law, as well as Provincial, to simply R & R a VIN tag legally means paperwork, a visit from the local PD while the tag is R & R'd, and more paperwork. The Province has the right, at any time, to brand the title as...

Note: the block is cast iron, and there's really no need to wire wheel it super clean. Get all the oil and loose rust off, give it a shot of epoxy primer and you're good to paint it. Light, hard-to-remove surface rust will actually help with paint adhesion.

A trick I've learned over the years: set the door 1/16" high at the back end when its installed as a bare shell. The weight of the glass, regulator, and other stuff will bring it down when all is said and done.

Nope, t'weren't me that had the drag car. My Beetle has been dragged up on the back of every tow truck in the county, but that's it. ;)

Yup, and unless there is growing rust problems in those un-seen areas, it's far better to leave them with whatever surface rust that's all ready there. I always get a kick out of those guys who think that every surface needs to be spotlessly cleaned of rust.

I've never been sold on the worth of chemical dipping an entire shell and EDP coating. Unless your ride is one of the strastopherically-priced machines, and will be largely a show queen, it's a waste of money that could go towards other work. Don't get me wrong: it does a beautiful job (though...

Good price. I'd drive it. Dad had a '64 Belveder, slant six, three on the tree, light blue metallic with a painted white roof. He bought it in the fall of '64, used with 5k on the clock. He sold it for the engine around 1980, with 270k on it. The body was amazingly good, considering Nova...

Yup. That about covers it. I pity the neighbours two doors down... there are dogs completely surrounding them, and all of the mutts like to bark. We went for years with only an occasional WOOF from this yard, but the two young 'uns are pretty mouthy. The Bishon Freise three doors down is the...

We got Lola on March 24, 2010. My birthday coincided with her Gotchyaday. Ol' Roscoe is still able, even though he's been totally blind for over 3 years and almost totally deaf for 2. He's put Dot in her place at least twice - he can move with incredible speed, still, even though his accuracy is...

We picked up this little doll three weeks ago, as a rescue. She'll be 5 months old May 3. She came at the tail end of her mange treatment and brought a fear of loud voices & noises. The mange is proving difficult to get rid of, but luckily it's not contagious. The fear of anything loud is gone...

I believe I said something like "good luck" in my numerous replies regarding plastic panels. It's a crap shoot, for sure. I've had decent luck fixing years-old plastic, but it's an involved process where no steps can be deleted, it's time consuming and fairly expensive, and yup: sometimes it's...

    1971 Dodge Charger WM23 Factory Super Bee, 383 V8, 4-Speed Pistol Grip

It IS a gorgeous car! But, yeah... it ain't a restoration. I'd drive the Hell out of it, though. One of our former customers had a '71 500 from new. It was an all-out street warrior when he became our customer, with a very nice 451, stripped out interior and done in flat black. Originally it...

I should add that a decent compliment of auto body tools would be needed, too... Just in case my comment should be taken as a "meh" thing, I AM thoroughly impressed with the work.

Yup, I'm impressed. Truthfully, I'd be impressed if the car had been far better before all the sheet metal went on, but once again seeing the before pics, I'm figuratively bowing down to your bud. That's some nice work. But honestly, it's not really that difficult. Time consuming, yes. And there...
