parts and value/saving?

Blah Blah Blah
ok so this lil venture has bit me...and im in deeper than id like..but whatever ill run with it and hope for the best...anyway ive dragged home TONS of parts..litteraly crossing the scales with every trip with a ton or 3.....ive got blocks heads trim cranks trannys..you name it..its mainly mid/late 60s b body stuff with a splash of mid/late 60s truck stuff...lots of b wagon bits too

first up..727 cases..are they worth anything other than scrap?..i assume the "complete" ones are....as well as the "cable' shift ones....and 90% of this stuff is big block...thus im out of my element

what about cranks..they have surface rust...from being in a motorhome.....as well as a few 440 blocks(bare) ones a 68 the other a 69..a couple early 383s and a 413 or 2...and a pile of about 6 sets of heads....and this is just the begining but...i turn to you guys who have sat on stuff and sold stuff on fleabay...ill grab pics of anything specific and gladly take any/all advice i can get

just dont ask me if i have X without being able to tell me EXACTLY what im looking for....cause right now im just mad grab hauling......and im so very SICK of seeing 727 guts....every time i grab a box im either seeing 833 syncros or gears or piles of 727 internals in with everything else...of which im guessing is all scrap

soon ill need to know what i should and shouldnt scrap just to keep going

Well I was sitting on an old 68 383 for yearrs. It was a rotating core...cylinders were crusty. Sold the short block for $400. I have sold used heads for BB for $100. 727 stuff...well don't really know but I'd think cases and whole trannies would probably net you a few bucks. Anything A833 would be worth money. Cranks would be worth money too...440 crank in a 400 is a stoker. Little surface rust is no big deal.

I'd watch E-bay and craigslist around the country and see what similar parts are going for...then I'd clean up everything and list the bigger stuff on craigslist, and smaller stuff on E-bay.

Good luck buddy!!

Yeah what he said.

I will say I paid $75 and $100 for my last 2 440 blocks, but not that it matters, they were a '76 and '72 respectively. I did flip the '76 for $250, bare block mind you.

833 parts will sell, especially usable parts. I'm not sure what he paid this year but Brewer's Performance was paying $150 for O/D cores last year at Carlisle. He was also buying parts. Might want to call him or Passon to see what they buy and pay for stuff.

727's I have no idea.

this is just a taste of whats made it home so far

theres coupe and road both.and i think cop..... and rallys...extra centers n rings for all.....as for the wagon..i think were going to pull the whole thing home and see if shes saveable/sellable..thats not to say we dont have them allready tho ..lotsa wagon stuff

Any ThermoQuad with the vacuum-advance port is worth money. I have a full listing TQ list numbers to decipher original applications on those. The Super Coupe wheels are rolling gold, as are cop wheels (especially with the correct dog dishes). However, this stuff can be tough to sell locally. eBay is the obvious choice, but craigslist, racingjunk.com, and other online advertising options can be quite helpful in getting it gone.

doc ill be looking to you specificly for IDing a good portion of this stuff..as well as helping me out with ebay listings..since it seems like the goto place for a good chunk of it

as for the copcar wheels so far ive found 2 perfect dishes for them..have not seen 2 more ...yet.... and those are EASY to spot with the portholes in the dishes...but sooooooooo many other caps and wheel centers

the plan as of now is simply get everything here..sort thru it lay it all out and take inventory/pics of everything.....its looks like ive got 2 complete 440s even if they are in peices

and i need to recover about 3k right now....2k to rebuild the powerstrokes trans which puked during all this and locked itself in forward gears...then theres fuel money brakes which will need to be replaced and the tow dolly that im expecting to buy tommaro......im in too deep to give up at this point....

oh get this the 66 fury..factory 4spd 383 car with factory REAR sway bar.......i think selling this one in the condition it sits is out of the question cause im guessing that car intact is worth a good chunk of coin...the engine, trans, rear are all out of the car right now.....rumored it was a factory pistol grip but i thought that was a later model thing...its gut its decent pretty well no rust and the trim if it isnt good we have good for it...

but the 4spd 383 was right?..cause the floor hump is clearly factory and it tagged out as a 383 commando car if my memory aint fuzzy

but the 4spd 383 was right?..

'63 was the first year you could get a Mopar with a 4 spd, which was a Borg-Warner. The following year they came out with the A-833. But the pistol-grip wasn't available until '70.

I guess cop wheels are a hit and miss thing, I sold a decent set for $150 at Carlisle last year, and there was a guy a couple aisles over that couldn't get $100 for a set. Neither of us had caps, and both sets needed refinishing.

As far as Coupe wheels, I can see that, but I have the widened pair and the Magnum pair I was just going to ship them out to have a new set of 8" hoops installed. If I can acquire another set, so much the better. :)

Let me know what you have for interior pieces.

stupid bucket is posting pics in reverse order...whatever.....i introduce you to my new friend..a VERY beefy tow dolly.....

had the wagon COMPLETLY unburried in 25 mins..with nothing more than the chainsaw and a pair of gloves

btw what wagon parts were you guys after...the interior trim panels?...if so i think i found a set NOT in that wagon..in fact ive found several wagon interior panels

Is that green Fury the original 4 speed car? That's a creampuff for its' age.

Wow a 66 Fury III with a 383/4spd!! Very cool car! And yes that combo was original. You could get a 4 speed floor shifted C-body from 65-68.

Polish that car up and get it out there for sale. You say it has a factory rear sway bar? What rear diff does it have? Let me know when you want to post up the fury. Send the info to me, with pics, and I'll post it up on the C-body boards I frequent for you.

1966 Fury III non a/c, 383/4 speed, factory (as far as we can tell) front and rear sway bars, Dana 60 with a Powerlock(?)
Someone ordered this car right! :2thumbs:

were not entirely sure on the rear...we assume the dana is "right" but we have a pile of b 8 3/4s as well...

sadly....the damn fender tag is long gone.....im hoping like crazy the build sheet is in the car somewhere and atleast partialy readable...but the vin does decode as being a 383 comando 4brl..and the 4spd is obviously factory....

as for #'s matching...its a 66 is it even possible to be numbers?.....we have a 66 383 4spd setup sitting here outside the car..is it original or not.....we will never know will we?....she needs ALOT of love....but we have EVERYTHING including spare grills hood fenders trim

the blue wagon is an even better cream puff......and even turned over under the power of a battery..so there is hope..and i couldnt find a spec of rust on it ANYWHERE!!!!!...but....im worried about what a 1972 TC 400 2brl wagon is worth...100% original

Damned '66 VIN numbers don't tell you whether it's a 2V or 4V engine. The Commando V8 emblems mean nothing regarding that, either. :( The only way you'll ever know is the build sheet since the fender tag is gone.

Dana 60s were not available under anything but Hemi cars in '66. It was likely swapped into the car at some point.
