Back from Vacation

MyBigBlockDodge

Screw it. Give me the red AND blue pills.
I just typed 4 paragraphs about the trip and somehow lost it all...

Anyway, Vaca was awesome!!!! Two weeks total including 5 days with family in the Black Hills of South Dakota celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday, my 1st aniversary with Sue, and one of my brothers birthdays (day before Moms).

Then spent 4 days wandering through 4 states enjoying the scenery on the way back to Phoenix.

We took over 350 pics and I'm sorting through them now. I'll post up a few. Drove a little over 4,500 miles and averaged 29.5 mpg in the Stang which I am very happy about :giggedy:

Hope you all have been doing well.

Adam :bravo:

Crazy Horse Monument in the Black Hills. It's in progress but you can see his arm and the horse head starting to take shape now. HUGE. Even larger then Mt. Rushmore.

That's a northern pine snake, and a lovely specimen at that. ;)

Nice pics, my mom is currently in Utah on a long road trip involving much of the same scenery. :)

But the rest of the state is desolate and boring.:(

Nah... ya just have to know where to look. ;) I grew up on the east end of the state in Sioux Falls.

View from my Mom's patio. Sioux Falls is covered in trees and the Sioux River winds through it.

The river in Chamberlain - Middle of South Dakota

The Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota. All of the decorations are done with whole ears of indian corn (you can see workers putting it up). They change out the design several times a year. Sounds odd, but it's really cool in person. Lots of detail in the work they do.

Wow! A lot of those pics bring back memories. I lived in Montana for 14 years and my family went on many vacations in South and North Dakota. We spent lots of time in Wyoming too.

Ya know I have probably been to Mount Rushmore 15 times but have never seen it. Every damn time we went it was foggy and you couldn’t se a thing.
