Hiding In The Bushes While
Mid 70's Honda bikes?

I've gotta change the plugs in my '76 CB750 tomorrow and I havn't the foggiest idea how to do it.

I was suppost to do it last year but couldn't figure out how then and now I HAVE to do it weather I like to or not. :D

Just though I'd ask.:)

I know they sound like they're running underwater if you take the header off and run it open like that...:toot:

The only thing that fits the plugs is the cheapy socket that came in the original tool kit. It's the perfect size to reach the center plugs. ;)
The plugs are an odd size and the center cylinders don't allow enough room for a standard socket, plus they drop the plugs down in the cooling fins. (Don't ask how I know this)

If you don't have one;

That brings back some memories. I had a 74 400 Super Sport and a 77 550-4.
The 400 was a quick little machine that was a ball to ride.
Wished I'd kept it.

I picked this one up for $450 about 3 years ago with 16,000 miles on her and I've put about 1000 on it in the last year, I really like if for rippin 'round town. :)

The SOHC fours are pretty basic and easy to work on. While you're snipin' ebay hunt down a shop manual for the Honda fours.

Settings the points is kind of a pain, but they last along time.

Somebody try to resurect 6pkrunner, if he isn't doing mopes he's having parts for 70's yapanese bikes sent to me for a ricochet to the great wet nova scrotum.

I know he's been doing a lot more ship board trips the last 6-8 months and sending me some really incredible pic's of places 99.9% of us will never see in a lifetime.
He was telling me he was restoring older 950 to 1100 bikes so getting tuning info from him shouldn't be to hard to get.

Cool, I'll have to do some huntin.

I'm actually looking into buying a points eliminator ECU for this bike, it fits behind the factory points cover.

I think it would be a good idea, no?

I've heard some bad words about the electronic kits, but that was many years ago when these bike were popular.

Just put new points in, they'll last you over 10,000 miles.;)

Yanno, methinks I may still have a manual for the honda twins.:hmmm:
Point setting is the same process, 2 or 4

Here's a page from the manual explaining the procedure. It's not really as bad as they make it seem. :dgt:
