89 Diplomat rear

Robertson_Tech

Dopameans and SodaPals proud dad.
Well I almost killed myself but it is done... ( I did not replace the springs yet I figured I would do that in a dry place.)

Got down to where the diplomat was fri the ground was frozen and looked solid. See the pic with the hubcaps on.

As we worked it melted and turned to a very thick mud. I had 5 layers on but got socked through when I started to the brake on the shadowed side I started to loose the ablity to think and when I got confused with a easy problem I pulled the plug and drove home in the nice warm dart even with the heat on for 100 miles I still was very cold when I got home.... Strange pains in the feet, but all was well next day I completed it and drove it home.

Wow it runs better with 2.9 gears..

Next I need to complete the 5A leather upgrade I started

Damn wild1, thems some brutal conditions for that kinda job! Please tell me you at least had a tarp or sheet of plastic to lay on?

Certainly not a job you will soon forget. Glad to see you got it going again. :)

Don't forget to change the speedo gear after, as it probably isn't reading right after the gear change.

LOL it is off 5 mph per 20 will grab the one from the car I got axel from as soon as I can.

As far as a tarp nope I almost used the one that (CrazyMoparGirl and RB77383 from Moparchat and other sites ) gave me for christmas a few years ago but I forgot it used the place mat Dopamean was using for the dart, it froze into the the mud and the backing came off when I tried to pull it out of the mud.

more cold pic The dart sits forlorn in the spot that the dippy sat ( I was alone so I could not drive 2 cars back. )
