And they usually offer the best prices that you'll find anywhere.....as long as you're willing to wait for shipping, which doesn't take too long.

Hey Welcome to the site Rockauto!! Been buying stuff from you for a number of years now. And your site is very well layed out, with excellent information and cross reference material.

Sweet. They offer shipping to Canada?

They do.

From experience though, you have to be careful.
They have a few warehouses around the US and stuff you buy on one order could originate from more than one warehouse.
So, shipping and handling kinda gets multiplied when that happens.
The system DOES warn you about that and you get to see the shipping costs before completing the order. So, you can make an informed decision.

That's been the only reason I haven't ordered more from Rock Auto. That's not a beef - I understand why it works that way - it just seems like my orders always end up coming from 3 warehouses and the total price just makes it not worthwhile.

I have been using Rock Auto for quite a few years. Other than the odd time shipping would have been from separate warehouses I found for Canadians it is the only way to go. The price you pay is to the door and no extra charges. Example of the savings when I got my Megacab it needed a drivers front hub. The dealer wanted $599.99 cdn for an off shore aftermarket unit. Rock Auto was $139.00 us for a Timken + shipping to the door. Was less than $180 us to the door 2 days later.

I recommend RockAuto.com to a lot of customers that come in with either oddball parts, or parts that they just can't find anywhere else. I've have a pretty good chunk come back and tell me they found it there. :)

I've been using rockauto for years, never had any problems with them at all!

Their customer service department bends over backwards to make things right. My son had an o2 sensor that was wrongly packaged by the manufacturer and they made it right after 4 times and clearing their shelves of the faulty ones and dealing with the manufacturer to clear things up. Shipping was all done on their dime for the extra parts sent out.

....excellent information and cross reference material.
Did I miss something on the cross-reference? I've never found one on RockAuto's site. I do, however, use their cataloguing a lot. It's quite good in and of itself... one of my "secrets" to being better than the next guy at finding the impossible.

I've ordered from them a couple of times in my old job and used them once for a customer at the new gig. It wasn't necessarily about price (which is usually excellent), but the multiple lines they carry often provide availability of oddball parts one just can't find locally. In one case, a flywheel for a '72 Jeep J-series pickup with a 360, the price went down after I'd ordered the part... someone caught it somehow, and the amount on my credit-card bill was lower than expected. It meant more profit for my store and the customer was just tickled that I could find the right part at a reasonable price.

Doc...just when you click on a particular part...then click on the high lighted part number, it will take you to all vehicles this part is "supposed" to fit. That was what I meant by cross reference.

Ah. I was looking for a numerical cross-reference, which the site lacks. However, I do realize the amount of data that must be collected and organized for such a feature, so I can certainly understand why there isn't one available. I use multiple other sites for that anyhow, but it would be nice to have one place to go.

been buying stuff from rockauto for awhile as well. I usually call around the area first and check prices and see if i save anything after shipping is calculated. Most of the time its a deal unless its a multi warehouse shipping issue.

i wonder if they ever consider to make a canadian warehouse :hmmm:

Me too! I usually order up a bunch of parts all at once, then ship to a warehouse in Blaine, Washington... And pick them up to face the wrath of customs. They don't usually bother me if it's under a couple hundred bucks :)
