yesterday sucked big time!!

383duster

they say I'm a sheep forker.......
went to the dragraces with my dart (not raced...) and on the way home the MSD quited giving sparks, luckely i do not trust electronics and always have a old points distributor in the trunk so 10 minutes later i was on the road again.

Was a bit fucked up and at home i wanted to cool down by giving a big smokey, putted the 4-spd in second gear, revved the engine and sidestepped the clutch, lot's of smoke from the wrong place, voila burned up the clutch!!!!! [smilie=e:

so i do need a expensive powerful clutch behind this engine if i want her on the strip with slicks...... fuck that i'm gonna build a bullit proof 727 for it, costs the same as a new clutch and drives much easier, then i also won't be afraid anymore for breaking the 8 3/4 while sidestepping the clutch.

i feel better now [smilie=a:

Automatics are for girls....[smilie=b:

Boy - clutches must be expensive there if they cost the same as a whole automatic transmission....

Sounds like a good plan Martijn. Those clutches are DAMN expensive, Nodda. And if he is gonna keep eating them, then an auto is easier cheaper and in the long run, more consistent.
Go for it M! gotta love power. :D Wonder what is the MSD's issue? [smilie=e:

Be that as it may - there is something just wrong with pulling a 4 speed from a car & replacing it with a slushbox. [smilie=e:

I've yet to encounter an automotive clutch that costs near what a built 727 & converter will.

i already bought a tranny for $100 and gonna build them self so then they cost not much, and it's also easier for the rear axle and thrust bearing in the engine, i just want a reliable car, if i wanna sidestep the clutch with slicks and traction with a 500hp engine with lots of torque then i need a damn good clutch, so then a automatic is easier

but if you like 4-speed so much you can buy it [smilie=a:

mmmmm - no - you are on the wrong side of the ocean, so the freight would be killer...

Besides, I have one awaiting its new home in the demon.

If you can kill a clutch with points what was the "ahem" point (or was that pointless) of the msd?

I see fragmented planets in your future... [smilie=e:

What gears you got out back?

the msd was already in the car and i want to have a rev limiter, and the engine start and idles much cleaner with the msd.
the tranny will be built very strong, i hate working under a car [smilie=e:
