yarding is rewarding

xmas came early yesterday..or atleast for my 58 ford...was running around to a few yards and stumbled across an already pulled set of old aluminum MT polished aluminum valve covers for small block mopar(10$)..and only a few odds and ends that i needed to pick up but none of the larger more needed items..on the way out i always check whats up front in the shop..been dealing with the owner for several years and generaly get a great deal(so far have gotten 3 malory dists for 10-25$ each)...in the corner out of sight is a milk crate with hoses hanging out of it...inside is 4 hyd cyls....an entire setup off a 69 caddy minus pumps but all of the hoses springs and cyls are in good shape..all for a sum of 60$
by no means am i looking to go hopping with the old ford but have been looking for a way to raise and lower the car for speed bumps and such being im going for the lead sled look.....now does anyone know much about these type of setups? [smilie=e:

Dude-I didnt know you were a chicano,but if you are no biggy.most of those setups go in place of the shocks so you have no suspension to speak of afterwards.Usually ran by a bunch of batteries and a pump in the trunk,are you planning to move to L.A? [smilie=e:

im not going for speed lift/lowering..just need to be able to have the thing sitting in the weeds and be able to raise up over nasty driveways and such..if it ends up being to harsh a ride i will swap to air when i can find it used
