Solid lifters and a zig-zag edge on the bottom of the valve covers. Built from around 55 till 65.

In 66 the Canadian built Mopars had the polys and domestics had the LA.

Ive seen them in fargo trucks up until 68 also.

The Poly's were carried over till 67 and were replaced by the LA318 mid-year. I had a 65 318 in my 68 Power Wagon. There was plenty of torque from that engine.:dance:

The poly is a very good motor but IMHO I would never install one in a car to heavy very good cly head just heavy
