are these cars worth restoring,?I know there isn't much repro sheetmetal for them, but there are still tons of satellite donors cheap for sheetmetal,,I basically saved it from the crusher today,as a buddy is thinning out a mopar yard near ottawa, and will drag it home this week,,it's a real '73 RR H code(340/727)car,with 3.23 s.g.it is rusty, typical pans, lower q'panels, lower doors, but is a pretty nice color combo,B5 blue with white stripe and white bucket console interior, rally dash,,,roof, grill, bumpers, firewall, cowl, hood, are very nice,no rust in back window area, non vinyl top car, interior isn't really too awful,(I've restored worse)still wearing it's oem paint, and all the decals and 340 callouts are visible,,,basically,I was just gonna' take the s.g. and part the rest, but in looking the car over,it is a restorable car,and the only rot is exterior sheetmetal,,I really never liked the body style, but it's not about me,somebody else may love them? it has vin tag, nicely optioned fender tag,and no title, but that's easy to overcome,,,what do you guy's think?.......and it also has disc brakes, rustfree framerails, and clean K frame and inner fenders and radiator support, all good tinted glass, the front header panel is all good too,,,

Hell yes drag that one home.Im with you-didnt care much for that year but its worth restoring for sure.At least its still a B body. [smilie=e:

Hey, I offered to give ya mine. And its still sitting in the barn. Actually 69x9x9, Those cars have gone up in value about 45 cents in the last 12 years, And the lower quarters have about 15 different compound curves and fade-away multi angle bends at the openings. I spent mega hrs, and wasted alot of metal, using a brake, and a shrinker/stretcher combo to make mine. There is supposed to be a guy in pittsburgh with the factory dies, but the last i heard, he's not set up yet.

they seem popular with some of the younger crowd,I just hate to part out any 340 cars,ya' know what I mean? I wouldn't even consider restoring it w/out a good donor sitting beside it,,and,I hear ya' on the compound curves,too!......lol

I thought you had changed your mind, and I didn't want to be rude and ask again. I would love to have it! [smilie=bunny.gif]

well whatcha'll waiting fer?? the car's sitting about 10 miles from my shop it will be here prolly by next saturday afternoon,I already paid for it,so,the guy won't scrap it,fill yer gas tanks ,hit tim hortons ,and head on up!,,,,and make me a reasonable offer,,it's a genuine car,but it's rough, not for the faint of heart,if it was a '71/'72 I'd be hunting down a donor car already,I'm still on the fence with these '73 up Body's.I could go take some pics tommorrow? I'm in steep negotiations for a '62 Dart MW basketcase with tons of parts, with the same guy,....so,I don't think I'll be diving into this car real quick, but at least the car is safe from big ugly forklifts and crushers for now,,

i bought a 74 satelite brand new (same body) WOW that was a long time ago. don't think i'd ever get another. still good to save them

I too, feel exactly the same way. I wouldn't mind a nice '73-'74, but wouldn't wanna restore one...my heart wouldn't be in it.

There's a '74 Satellite/ Road Runner Clone, near here for $4500...Looks pretty clean...tempting to buy it, and swap 318 for 440...

Dave,it's not as rough as the charger,(this car has perfect framerails, but needs the rest of the sheetmetal,at least we got some 1/2 way decent sheetmetal for fixin' your car,no choice for these car's,donor material only, but the bright side is that there are tons of good donors still around, but then again it's not a '69 charger, yours was worth saving, even if you just drive it once a year for the rest of your life,........I'm with the guy that wouldn't really have his heart in restoring a '73 up,nice car's,but a full resto would cost waaaaaay more than the car's worth,,better to buy a survivor,JMO,,even doing the labor myself,it would be real expensive,,and I can't spend the time when I have a '62 and a '63 dodge sitting in the yard, and Ron's '68 Charger coming anytime now for the winter, his car is a california body, but still will need some meticulous fine tuning as she's Black!

....I went and looked it over real good this a.m.,I bought 2 more '67 belvederes, and this car needs too much to be feasible to fix,,,I'm going to part it out,you guy;s can have first dibs before Epay gets the nod,,,some good stuff on it are C56 dual reclining bucket seats, black seatbelts, transmission hump and console brackets,,actually the floorpans are solid,I will check them closer, they maybe good donors,I could only find 1 small hole on the driver heel area, rally dash wiring,83/4 rear,3.55 s.g. already has a home ,as does the white console and slapstick,........complete frt./rear swaybars,B41 power disc brake setup(pin type calipers),bulge hood with factoryJ45 hoodpins and lanyards,L31 fender turn sigs, car has rock solid framerails, trans and torsion x-members,G36 painted race mirrors, good valances(car was a factory N41 dual exhaust withN42 chrome tips),good header panel, radiator support,,inner fenders,4 speed/console type steer column with key and good doorlocks,,,,,,,,,and more ! located in Ottawa,Ont.,can ship heavy stuff to Toronto or lower 48 states via www.forwardair.com origin terminal JOW,they will give you good rates,,my guy's can skid and deliver to terminal for small fee.............or p/up @ my shop,I have a forklift to load, ups or post office for small stuff.
