Winter Project '68 Valiant

Well, Mike's winter project is underway...........late, but at least started. Seats are out of the Valiant, and will be delivered next week to have new Legendary upholstery installed. He has removed the old front shocks, and is in the process of cleaning everything up under there. Amazing how much dirt/rust you get out of a 40 yr. old car's front end! We could grow potatoes on the garage floor, I think.

PLANS: Replace front/rear shocks (obviously); new seat covers (underway); replace existing rearend with 8 3/4, 3:23s; remove SS springs from '67 (accident) Valiant and install in '68 (they were new shortly before the accident......might as well use 'em); install new outer door handles; install new window cranks; new cat-whiskers; new tinted windshield w/shade band.

Those are the major jobs. There are a few other things that Mike has on "the list"........like a new fuel pump......which have needed doing.

Will get some pics as we progress. :giggedy:

Sounds like a nice set of uprades...should make the car more enjoyable to drive that for sure.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for TC. The way it is now, with the 4-spd. in it, the rear gears are too high, and it bucks and jumps when you get down to around 30 mph........have to actually downshift it into 2nd to take that away. Hoping to alleviate that with the lower gearset. And, of course, new shocks/springs should help too. [smilie=::
