Who'd a thunk a running ebody

in good mechanical shape with not much rust at all would have fetched only $4150 on ebay? Yeah, it needs plenty of cosmetic work, but the foundation is solid, and it can be driven while it's being made to look better.

A couple of people are interested in it that saw it on the auction, but still, no one bid it up past $4150. I'm really surprised about that-I figured more than that was a given for a running e body that's not totally rusted out or wrecked beyond recognition.

Maybe the market is tanking? Dunno, but I'd be too cheap to pay even that much. The most we've ever paid for a Mopar is $1,000, and we've owned a LOT of them, including two E-bodies. Heck, our rust-free 340 Challenger we got for free, back when no one liked them. :D

Wow, what a deal that was! I've gotten stuff along those lines occasionally, though not as extreme an example as that. Mostly decent old dusters when they were $300. The market currently will support prices like what I'm trying to get for the challenger, though I don't know whether it will continue to or not. I'd think it would be even better later, as the supply of '70 and '71's slowly dries up. Pretty much the same thing as the '71 and later b bodies. Five years ago, you could hardly get anything for them, but now they're starting to come around.
