who is the butt munch

dodgedifferent2

hung like a stud field mouse and
that decided it would be a wise idea to use HUGE rivets to attach ball joints to the a arm on dakota's?

ground head off
tried to drive out with a punch ... major failure
tried a c clamp idea to get huge pressure on the stud ... major failure..
gave it the finger a few times .. failure
cussed at it .... failure
tried the punch idea ... failure

next on list
cuss at it some more
try punch again
the one i do not want to try ... drilling it out.

anybody have any other ideas to get the handicapped rivets out?

Ha-Ha!! *points and laughs*

Oops...sorry. :shifty:

Welcome to my world. I use an airhammer, a big one. ;) Even then on some vehicles a torch is needed to heat the rivets cherry red before they will pop out.

Without those tools at your disposal you best get busy drilling....sorry.

i wish i had an airhammer ...

that will be my next purchase now

i did drill most of them, but now the last one is just hanging in there just staring at me and laughing at me. I drilled it and it still aint coming. I will have to get a BFH

i feel your pain.....i ground, drilled then punched all the rivits out of a 47 ford 1 1/2 ton frame

what i found was drill them a little more than half way down and then they useuealy punched out

ya i found the drilling about half way was the best process. and i tried to use a drill about 5/16 or so and then it collapsed on itself and popped right out.

the driving with the BFH got very tiresome.
