What's that smell?

swapped rears (from 9.25 open 3.21's to LS 9.25 3.21's) in Ramcharger, now with the ground pounding 318 I can spin both tires in gravel :bwuhaha:

Started out as axle seal "maybe bearings" replacement then after inspection I was in for spider set and at least one axle, bearings and seals, said pha-kit and picked a "new" one up at the wreckers.

with the heat index nearing "whaddya stupid go inside for chrissakes" I managed to stretch a 2 hour job into almost a week.

Or.... I just wanted an excuse to paint the diff cover black :bwuhaha:

always wanted to find a LSD for my RC front and rear but could never find a used one out this way..where 4wd translates into 1 tire up front and 1 out back

Ummm…… That translates into motorcycle.:shifty:
Well being my Jeep is the same way:doubt: when you're in 4wheel drive you get a one legged dog effect on the front and rear axles:doh:I think that's what 69.5 meant.

A one-legged dog doesn't even approach the similarity of having two axles, much less two wheels.

Have another beer, Flounderchild.

:D

:wtf:ok in 2wd only my passenger rear will spin in loose stuff.....in 4wd both my pass rear and passenger front spins....not all 4 which I thought 4WD meant all 4 spin...not on the Jeep:doubt:.......

wait leme rethink that...i think it's driver front that spins, not the passenger

if you had limited slip or a locker in each axle then you would have TRUE 4 wheel DRIVE. Otherwise the open diff just sends the power to the wheel with the least amount of resistance (that means the one on the ice or in the mud) and you can end up with basically NO wheel drive.

Stretch's truck is 4WD... someone ordered it with front and rear Sure Grips.

It was damned funny watching one minor blip of the axle set that sucker on the axles at the boneyard one day... you gotta love 4 roostertails followed by the offender's being tugged out by a front-end loader. :D

Nice. My 79 RC had the pioneer(prospector?) pkg ordered on it and came with limited slip units at both ends as well.

My above post about 4wd vs 0wd was directed at Fishsticky though, not Stretch.

Yeah I found out about 0WD the hard way:doubt::doh:Frekkin snow/mud piles:(

We stopped for pics of wildlife one wintry day, pulled off the road as much as possible. What looked like solid road was only a snowmobile track through loose snow in an 8 foot ditch...... oops, just put her in drive and whump we fell in (2 on the ground, and 2 doing nothing).
walked to the next place he just had an escort type vehicle but he called his friend with the chebby. long story short we got out and down the road but it was all i could do to keep from popping her in reverse and pulling the POS in with us :) he had this cloud of smug following him that could be seen for miles.

Up next 360 rebuild? been staining the shed floor too long now.

funny thing about double pegleging it...i could never manage to legitimatly get my RC stuck...the 2 ever times i managed to get stuck i was highcentered on the pumpkins.....if it quit plowing forward droping it into reverse ALWAYS pulled it out

Next time you’re at work check the back room for a sense of humor. I was being funny.

Had 3 or 4 humor sensors but forgot where I put 'em. Sense of smell will fit but it confuses the MAFs. :Fresh Meds:
