Whats all that smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RUSTY Cuda

In over my head!
Well I got my work work done early & went back to the car, everything has to be difficult, could not get my friggen hands in there to put that connector on the trans, had to jack it up a bit to finally get it on, while it was up put a bunch a turns on the T bar adjusters, still think it should be higher, hope he didn't have slant 6 bars in there???
Anyway, she cranks from the key now, so i took the fuel line off at the filter, put some down the line to the pump & lifted the hose & put some in the carb lines, poured a tad down the carb & after bout 3 short bursts she ran from the lines! :giggedy:
:dgt: But it sounded like a barrel of rotating bricks.
Redid the firing order, basically move all wires over 1 post, barley a sputter, kept moving the distributor around but to no avail:( ran the battery down, so I got out the charger & put some floor pan plugs in & laid out a few more wires.
Decided to put the wires back where they were, rotor is pointing right between the 2 posts o the distributor, anyway fired right up, now the barrel O chit sound is gone & the sound of destruction has moved up into the valve train area, noticed if I upped the rpm's a little it smoothed out . Got Mr 340 on the line, timing he thinks, while this is going on I got the rad cap off, waiting for the stat to open to see if I got flow, well i got it! bout a quarts worth all over the bay![smilie=2: done this many times(starting with a cold eng) & you'd see it start moving in the rad, never overflowed like that on me!
Anyway, sprayed antifreeze around the fan area the first few tries, cleand that up & when it ran no more sigs of a leak til, the rad thing!:doubt:
So about this time my son comes out to see whats burning :D & says what time we leaving???? I'm like for what??? .............him, Moms birthday dinner! So the mad rush is on to pack up out there & get myself cleaned up, so the timing will have to wait till later in the week, go a couple days work booked , amazing how that always cuts into the important stuff time!:toot:
Anyway the dinner went well(& on time) the wraith was narrowly avoided & all is well on the home front!:shifty:

OH YEA, almost forgot, when the revs were up she sure did sound sweet through the half open headers!:giggedy: Rich.

LOL! When I broke in the cam on the Dart, I double checked everything and then did it again...funny thing is, I never checked the rad cap the first time, so I never re-checked it either. So there I am, running at 2500rpm spraying it all over as it hits the fan. Dumb. Oh well! Glad to hear it makes noise.

WOOOO HOOO! Way to go Rich!

Noisy or not, I bet you had an ear to ear grin when it popped off the first time huh?

Thanks everyone, yea i guess after i got over the panic of the unsolicited noises [smilie=2: it was rather a sweet moment, had no time to let it sink in,:gaga: next time out I'll try some more adjustments & hope it quiets down so i can hear the roar of the headers! :shifty: Rich.
