What would you do here?

Hey all,

Recently, I listed my '70 Fury Gran Coupe on Moparts for a certain price. That was with the 440, 727, and all the parts that it needs to go back together. Anyway, I had a bite on it, but he didnt get back to me. He E-mailed me about a Month or so ago, and my E-mail was down. I finally found it and replyed.

Anyway, I havent heard back yet. The problem is that I NEED that 440 for my BB Truck I'm getting back. Going to build a 10:1 mild motor out of it. I listed it for a cheaper price with a 400 in the car, but again, no reply.

So, do I yank the 440 out or wait? I hate to get rid of it because other than the #s engine in the GT, its the only 440 I've got left. Had another smog dog, but I traded it away for the motor (and Car its from) for my Duster.

Like I said, I NEED this puppy!

A big block in the hand is worth much more than a nibble on the board. If he's still interested, make him a screamin deal offer on the car sans engine as well as with the B-motor. The 440 is yours. Do with it as you will.

The motor's yours [smilie=e:

I agree. There's nothing there that says you had any kind of deal on the table.

I'm sure the nibbler has assumed he missed out anyway...

There's nothing wrong with changing your mind as long as you haven't yet started to deal.

ya save some cheap ones for me [smilie=n: [smilie=e:

however it is your engine and your car ...so keep the engine if you built it the way you want and send that 400 with him or not

He asked, I replied. What would you do? Keep hoarding non-running, non-desirable cars?

Cars are like women and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one man finds undesirable is another mans eye candy.

From a womans standpoint.......Jello said that she dated many good looking men. But looks aren't everything. Case in point......she married Sammy:D

Welp, I've decided that its coming out PDQ. If he wants the car, I'll have to sell it to him with the 400 (I also hate to get rid of that), or motor-less. Its also no big deal that I sell the car, because if I did, that was extra to get a '69 440, but since it dont look like its a sell, I'll eventually piece it back together and maybe sell it as a runner.

440 Truck, here we come!

I only said that because my uncle has an entire farm full of vehicles he sees as valuable but really aren't and he'll never do anything with. He'll die before he does anything with them and his family will be stuck with that burden.

That's cool M_M. I'm not disagreeing with your thinking. You are probably right that they won't be worth anything......at least to many of us muscle car folks. Just basically saying that we like Mopars and others like Chevys. It's a personal choice. I prefer B bodies and you prefer E bodies, others prefer F/M/J bodies, or trucks. The old cliche' "Live and let live".
