gathering parts like a squirrel gathering NUTS
i went and looked at a 1974 Plymouth Satellite today and it had a hood mounted "CHRYSLER" tach . from what ive read this was not an option in 74 , but i dont know or recall ever seeing a hood mounted tach on a MOPAR . except maybe a SUPERBIRD ? or DAYTONA ?

Best I know, it was available as a dealer add-on (or DIY) , but came on no Mopars from the factory.

They were made by dixco...and I would relly like to get my hands on one....

I know it was listed as an option in the back of the '71 full line brochure, If I recall correctly it was a "Huslte Stuff"accessory.

Hmmm, I always thought it was a dealer only installed item too.:hmmm:

From my parts cd, the Hustle book.

I had one on my 70 Dart back in 72 looked cool but sucked as a tach. Kept getting wet and burning out, Glass would always fog. Also not very accurate !!

You could use it for funding other parts for your car but personally I would keep it too. They don't come up for sale very often and I think they're neat.

they're in the $300.00 range I believe.

Could be. It's been a few months since I last looked.

As mentioned above they were a dealer installed item. And my useless opinion doesn't like anything on the hood of a car but what the factory offered. I always found them to be like afterthoughts or such. Buddy had a GTO where it was a factory offering, and I still found that garish. But that's just me. I'd sell it in a heartbeat and get some factory part with the coins.

Hustle Stuff parts catalog and modification manual.

I think it was the predecessor to Direct Connection.
