what is it worth? 1966 Fury vert

My dad ran across a 1966 Fury convertible, 383 supposedly in great original paint condition with a new top and interior for 8k. Is it worth that assuming numbers matching drivetrain and exceptional condition? It runs great and everything works is how it was described but I have not laid eyes on it yet. I do not have a clue as to the market value of those cars so any speculation would be appreciated :)

2 dr or 4 dr? I'm not very familiar with verts so I don't know if here was ever a 4 dr vert.

I'm not that tuned into the 66's, but I do daily searches on EBay for the 65's.

Very few 65 Convertables meet reserve, most of the bids top out around six,

sellers won't let them go for what buyers are willing to pay.

IMO, 8K for a big block original mid sixties convertable is a good move, but not a good investment if profit is your motive.

Is it worth it? To me. Yes, yes and yes. I love those cars. Beautiful interiors and..... and........:giggedy:

Thanks for the replies guys, I am going to at least check out the condition and options before I think about it any further. Foggy, if you are interested and I decide to pass on it I would definitely be willing to forward the information on to you. poly 318, they are still a small block with the distributor in the rear right? It may end up being a 361 instead of a 383 but surely I could tell if it was not a big block.

looked the car over briefly today. The paint looked pretty good but it looked like there were some waves in the rear quarters which if I saw it correctly means some bondo which is not original paint by any means. light blue metallic with white top and white interior. console shifted auto. missing the driver side quarter window or it is stuck in the down position. all in all a decent car and looked pretty sharp but no where near 8k worth imo.
