wet carpet??

dodgedifferent2

hung like a stud field mouse and
ok so i accidently spilled an unknown amount of water onto the passenger side carpet in my truck (blamed it on the gf that she keeps peeing in my truck)
now how can i get all the water out of the carpet before it stinks too much? I have the carpet rolled up and the heat blowing on the underside of the carpet (sponge) and i mopped up the water under the carpet with a bunch of towels. I swear i have taken out 5 gallons already.

any suggestions on how to get the smell gone or it cured? Without selling the truck:huh:

Wet-dry vac and a dehumidifier.

Please send the check to...

:D
Exactly what I was thinking, plus maybe some of that carpet powder stuff with a vacuum afterwards. Truck may smell a little fru fru for a bit, depending on what scent ya get but it's better than the alternative smell!

yeah skip the fru fru until it'd completly dry, that is if you want it it'll just add to the mess wet. DAMHIK (is that a new one)?

tried the shop vac once, but it didnt do too much. but i think the shop vac i used sucked (no pun intended)

guess i need a de-humidifier...

and its only water. It was drinking water for the camping trip.

Is it possible to park it in the sun with the door on that side open?

Heat & ventilation are your friends.

Pure water shouldn't cause an odor if it's not left to mildew. As a precaution to possible odor, you could sprinkle some Arm & Hammer under the carpet.

wife? are those the things that make restoman sized headaches? cause i aint got me one of them

i have been keeping the windows open as much as possible. But with the town i live in .. and the damn criminal activity in the upper enchelon ... its best to button up the truck as much as possible.

You would think a small town would have less of a problem with thefts and vandalism .. but for some reason my hometown is ass backwards. *mumbles about kids that need some discipline*

ya i know how it is--- since the cops put the substation in the crimanals have been safe-- i told them that to...are the cop cars down there black and white to? i heard it was because they didn,t want racial profiling:bwuhaha::bwuhaha:-- don,t tell them that kid. i did and i thot they were going to run me in---- oddball cops - can,t even take a joke...especally the new cops rite out of school......:bwuhaha:yup gotta lock up your truck or car but leave your cattle outside.....what happens when someone walks off with 4/4 off beef...:bwuhaha::bwuhaha:i guess you would get that Bovine plauge--mad cow disease:bwuhaha:-ask a cop out there how you lock up a herd of beef. i betcha he don,t know.. then tell him you put them in the barn:bwuhaha:ask a cop --- why do cows wear bells -- in case their horns don,t work.:bwuhaha::bwuhaha::bwuhaha::bwuhaha:life in the country eh?:toot:

no we dont have holsteins in chatham-kent. We have chathem-kent police. No holsteins (opp) cept in my barn. The odd one cruises through though.

The cops are not the problem out here. Its
1) too many idiots for a small town. some people just need to grow the #$#% up
2) City of chatham hogging all resources for the rest of the municipality. So the cops stay in chatham and hardly ever come out this way.
3) no discrimination here, but we are surrounded by 3 different indian reserves and they must travel from one reserve to the other. and leave a trail.
4) no jobs in chatham-kent so everyone is fending for themselves and making money any way they can. Too bad it has to involve my stuff.

Get a little tub of odor absorb from Crappy Tire. It looks like a container of chip dip but inside, it's ajelly like stuff that will shrink and dry out as it absorbs smell.

It's a coupla bucks.

Pop the lid and set it under the passenger seat. Maybe double tape it down so it doesn't slide around.

It did wonders in our old basement after we got the water out.

That's the key though - get rid of as much moisture as you can or the smell will just keep coming back.

Another thing to try is removing the cheese sandwich from under the seat cushion. I've heard it works but haven't tried it myself yet.

i used an "air sponge" (walmart) under the seat and been riding around with that for a week now. Most of the water is out of the carpet now so now the wait and see how the smell goes. Its tolerable right now, but i have to put the carpet and trim all back together and then i should know for sure.

WHY go to all that trouble ? just roll the windows up and fill it full of water - throw in some fish and call it a rolling Aquarium????put plastic in the bed fill it full of water and you have a pool. just think a pool and an Aquarium all in one. nobody has that and you,d be the first . how Red Neck is that. would be nice on a hot day. ya think????:bwuhaha::bwuhaha::bwuhaha:

for some reason i got water on the passenger side floor in the back of my car.... did your GF pee on my floor too?

she must have great aim from this distance.... unless.... were you in my "hood"?
she says she is sorry and will try not to mark her territory in your vehicle any more.:shifty: and possibly wear depends... this way it may keep me outa her pants ... and no pee on my floor :doubt:
