My dad was just out messing around with the engine in the Jeep (360) and when he revs it, the upper radiator hose wants to collapse. We were wondering what could cause something like that?
thanks for any help

The steel insert is missing. Looks like a coil of steel that goes into the hose. Most new hoses don't have em, apparently. I was told to either put in the insert, or just quit looking at it. :)

usually that's the bottom hose that has the coil and will get sucked closed,,is the bottom hose plugged? or the bottom of the radiator? but the pump is still trying to move water?dunno'

Tha's 'bout it.

Tell paw to let it warm up enough to open the thermostat and the water pump won't be tryin' to suck the whole system into the pump. :D

If it aint broke-fix it until it is. [smilie=e: If you dont like the looks of your hoses, go ahead and replace them if they are 2 yrs old or more. Its called preventitive maintanence.
