Hiding In The Bushes While
SMALLER CAR![smilie=2:

Yes folks I'm in the process of buying a smaller "run around" car for going to and from town and work.

The upside is I will save some money by not driving the Newport but the old girl will be getting the Nice fenders, bodyword and paint I promised her.

The down side is that my "New" little car is going to be a....................

Chevette.

It's actually an Acadian, 4 dr, 4spd with a blowed up 1.6L but comes with a Rusty Chevette parts car with a real good 2.0 HO motor!

Yes I'll have to play cut & paste but what the hey, I have already helped by buddy work on his Acadian (Changing front tranny seals and re-ringing the motor.) and they are damn easy to work on!

Oh, and I get both For $300.:D

Noooooooooooo!!

My God man, have you no shame?

Those are AWESOME cars if yah want tough! Not too many around here any longer...they rotted out hard. I spent a good deal of my teen years tooling the countryside in one of them. ;) Good job!

Thanks XL.;)

It's somthing cheap, reliable, RWD has Manual trans and can seat 9 people.

Perfect car for me!:D

We got 8 in after a party...the driver was the only sober one, and I think that is why we all fit! :D

9 people? :D

Please, by all means take a pic of that! :felant: :D

We got 9 people to fit into my buddies 4dr Acadian.

But we couldn't go anywhere because the body was sitting on the rear tires.:D

I'm just ribbin the kid. Actually they are a pretty fun oversized go-cart. We used to have a berm for jumping cars at my buddies JY when he was just getting started. The chevette's could really catch some good air and keep on going.

The weak spot seemed to be the gas tank, after a half a dozen jumps or so they would rupture ending the fun.

A regular customer of ours has a diesel model (an 81 I think..) he just had it in today for new wheel cylinders and brake lines. Most folks freak when he starts it up and the rattle of a diesel is heard. He will never sell it and it only has 40,000 miles on it.

Bah! Mannye, you could probably shove another 9 in there...just gotta try harder, or get drunker! :D

Whats RIGHT with a chevette?:doubt:

:D

*snicker*

Well - there's still a lot of them on the road it seems.

Of all the cars from that era that were basically a rip - off of the Volkswagen Rabbit, the Chevette seems to have lasted the longest. Long gone for the most part are the Omni's, Horizons & even the Rabbits themselves....

....Maybe it's just because GM sold so many more of 'em....?
