Wish me luck guys. Last month I broke my kneecap. its not easy having a busted kneecap and working at a restoration shop let me tell you. Finally this friday they're going in to remove the small chunk of my kneecap. Hopefully this will take it of my problem.

So if this weekend you see any odd messages posted from me that dont make sense, just know they have me some good pain killers.

You may want to listen to the doc's but absolutely, and I DO MEAN ABSOLUTELY...LISTEN TO THE NURSES!!! They're the ones who determine whether or not you live... Oh and good luck, break a leg, and all that good stuff!!! I hear it feels worse than childbirth...(just kidding!)

Good luck man!! I remember when my dad went theu the same surgery....they didn't have as good of pills back then though and he was pretty gimpy for a while. Looking forward to all the nanu nanu posts though! :bwuhaha:

ive been gimpy for the last month. Hell my boss just calls me hopalong now. im ready to not be gimpy next month.

That i am not entirely sure about. Neither is anybody else. I probably did it at work, but i cant prove it cause it didnt start to hurt until one morning i woke up and felt like i had a knife in my knee. got xrays and theres a crack. then had to wait 2 weeks to see if it would heal together. then had a couple bone scans done, and finally i can get freaking surgery so i dont lose any more damn time from work.

My dad flubbed his knee up playing softball. He was going full steam for the fence to rob a homer from the opposing team and hit the outfield fence just right and he dropped. I remember watching him be carried off the field. He was on crutches for a few weeks too. Once again good luck man!! :helpme: I wont even tell you how he broke his finger playing basketball. :dgt::D (hint don't dunk with a wedding ring on!![smilie=f:)

im supposed to be back working within a week. I hope their right.
A week?? :wtf: My old man was out for about 4-6...:wtf: Well he could return to work after about a week but was placed on light duty...in the military that equates to pencil pusher. :D

*affects a sympathetic limp and then winces*

Good luck man. You'll be dancing the tango in no time.

Your boss is going to love it, but let him lead, okay?

No worries. I mean, look at me! *shifty*

Seriously, small surguries on knees are simple things, you will be up and jogging in no time. :)
Good luck!

You don't need an excuse, just say No. :)

I feel for ya, got two bad knees myself and sometimes this trade takes a lot out of me by the end of the day.

Follow what the Doc's say - you're a young guy now, but when you're an old dude those injuries tend to come back to haunt you.

How are things going at work? Busy?

We're about a year out right now. More cars than we can fit in either shop since we expanded about 4-5 months ago. now we're stuffed to the gills again. Unfortunately the pay still sucks. :p I'm only there till I graduate, then I 'm going to find another job hopefully one that pays alot better. Hows it up at your place?

Not too bad, the body shop has been humming along nicely as far as getting the work in.
The problem has been with getting the work out. Extra staff makes all the difference.

The mechanical end of things has been downright abysmal until two weeks ago. Now we have too much of it (if there is such a thing).

We're slowly getting away from the resto end, and heading back towards street cars and hot rods. Restoration work, at least here, is harder to get lately and not too many folks are willing to shell out the big $$$ it takes to do it right. I'd really rather do the "special interest, I'm gonna drive it occasionally" cars than the trailer style cars. And the customers are Faaaaaaaaarrrrrr easier to please. :)
