Iowa Introduces Bill to Ban HID Headlamps

and

Iowa Introduces Bill to Expand Use of Antique Vehicles
Legislation (S.F. 91) that would amend the state’s current law governing antique motor vehicles to permit their occasional use for up to 1,000 miles per year has been introduced in the Iowa Senate. Under current Iowa, use of antique vehicles is strictly limited to exhibitions or educational purposes.

I don't see a problem.

If it's about that bill in California who cares?

wow dont you think they have better things to worry about than wasting thier time on such trivial items sheesh. crime is up well it must be all these tugs running around with brushgaurds and spinning hub caps :wtf:

ok i actually read the thing about brush gaurds and it makes little more sense. plus why would you need a brush gaurd in new york ?

and does owning an antique vehicle mean any car older than a certain year or is it jsut those liscensed as antiques ? what if your only car was a 1970 charger would it apply to you ?

Here in Iowa you can designate a car as Antique but then are limited to shows "by the shortest route blah blah blah" . cheap yearly fees.

You can still register as a regular driver too, We can still "put them out to pasture" by surrendering the plates to the courthouse you don't pay registration taxes when they are "in storage"

And in Saskatchewan it has to 30 years old and you have to have another non-antique vehicle plated as your "primary" vehicle.

There are no other restrictions, you pay $12 a month for plates/insurance and you can drive your "antique" vehicle to work every day if you wanted to.:giggedy:

bah see i had no idea i really hope wv doesnt have any stupis laws like this the plymouth im working on is going to be my only mode of trans ... i cant afford to get another car or i would have by now :(

Here it is also 30 years for an antique and you must have another vehicle registered as your primary transportation. Plates are $16 a year and Silver Wheels writes realistic policies for insurance. No driving it to work. But other than that its very lenient.
I suppose the policy may go up if you have spinners and bush guards.

Not sure on the laws in Michigan but if I wanted to drive a classic car as my daily driver, who is really to say I can't?! :dgt: Not that I'll be so lucky as to have a classic car in my possession any time soon but still...I see a couple late 60's Camaros and a few 70's Vettes on almost a daily basis up here in the summer....seen a few Mopars too but not that common. What's the big deal with this anyways? I don't know much about it. Is the "classic car" stuff just mostly for the type of insurance for the cars or what?

New York Reintroduces Bill to Ban Spinner Hubcaps SWEET!!!!!! :D:D:D

In WI anything older than 20 yrs can get you a collector plate. You also need a regular registered vehicle. The cost for the 1st collector plate is equal to 4 yrs registration but good for life. Any additional plates are equal to 2 yrs cost. The only restrictions are that the vehicle cannot be used in Jan. (duh)...and that there no modifications to the body or variations from what could have been OEM.

30 yrs old can get an antique plate, but they carry more restrictions.

Also, a Hobbiest plate is available for home-built or highly modified cars. They carry even more restrictions.

Any of these can always be registered regularely. ;)

The brushguard issue here is the POS"s can have up to a 75% chance that your airbags wont deploy in a collision. AND they twist the Chit out of the frame because they take both front rails with them when they go.:naughty:
