WD-40 alternate uses.

WD 40 is great stuff, but a word of caution - don't use it anywhere near something you're going to be painting soon. It has some silicone content and will cause no end of heartache in the spray booth.

It ain't that great on oil spots on your concrete driveway either. Trust me. I drive a Beetle that likes to leave little rosebuds everywhere it sits.

There were definitely some recommendations I'll try, but it won't be with too much hope. The recommendation of WD40 as a penetratant (a job at which it's easily the worst on the market) will cloud my expectations... that stuff couldn't loosen a dried condom, much less a rusted bolt.

Yeah there were a few I thought were good ideas, a few I know of better products/ways to do it and a few I would never try in a million years! Kinda curious about the guitar strings though. Kinda apprehensive but guitar strings are fairly cheap so if I waste a set, no biggie.

Funny there is no tips on how to use it for Water Dissipation

:bwuhaha:

Well, they had one.

"Revive spark plugs
Can't get your car to start on a rainy or humid day? To get your engine purring, just spray some WD-40 on the spark-plug wires before you try starting it up again. WD-40 displaces water and keeps moisture away from the plugs."

I tried the snow-shovel deal today. It was slightly less effective than pissing on a forest fire. It made the lighter, drier snow stick much worse; the wet heavy stuff was no different than normal. Ah well, it was worth a try.

2k plus "official" uses http://www.wd40.com/uses-tips/ cool too. "book-ends" who'd a thunk it? :D

funny the FAQ's don't mention how to remove it, say in the case of it getting onto something you want to paint as Resto mentioned.

I don't know if it's mentioned, but WD40 is a good alternative as a starting spray. Much safer than ether. ;)

well i dont think we have many here..but..its the best hands down engine storage protectant for nitro rc engines and is one of the greatest tools in an rc bag for drying out mud/sand/water dead electric motors as well as saving a nitro engine from the water it just sucked in

Try some paste turtle wax next time . You can also get them too slick, you still need some friction to hold that big white pile of shit so you can put it where you want it. I would say the slickerer the better if one was using a dozer type shovel.
Did you bring the shovel indoors between rounds? The temperature difference could worsen the sticking problem.

Gee I must have slept through that one..............

I sure as hell won’t put it on my guitar strings! I don’t want my guitar or hands to smell like that shit!

Good point but sadly most of the string lubes on the market have a funky smell. Hard to find one that doesn't.
