Waxing windshields..

I have heard and read this is a no-no. 69.5 showed me this little trick a few years ago and living in a rain filled climate it actually improved visibility in heavy rains. Well my wiper assembly is kinda screwed and I haven't had the time to fix it, it still works but the driver side just kinda flops around (broken wiper trans assembly thingy. I have the new part just haven't put it in yet.) so I put 3 coats of wax on it to help the water run off a bit better and it works great....ok back to my original point....Why is waxing windows a bad thing?? :wtf:

I don't use wax. I use the stuff specified for windows (Rain-x) although it basically does the same thing.

never tried a potato but I have used rainx, it works great but does attract dust on the windshield :doubt:
