just got in from the movies,i went to check out WotW.

i have to say i thought it sucked.i am not going to spoil anything for anyone, but i cant belive all the hype over this movie, and it was HORRIBLE!wow, nice special effects, and tom cruise...automatic blockbuster

if you plan on seeing this POS,be warned.it is very weak in plot(i thought the origional was better and its 40 years old)insanely predictable, and overall, just a waste of time

just my.02 cents!

I seen it too. I thought it was a 8/10. the effects were great, sound effects was great. it was one of the better remakes done. one thumbs up, one down. [smilie=e:

I am watching "The Day After" as we speak....I last watched it in grade school. ;)

-ummm XL - that was yesterday for you.

I too gave WotW about an 8 out of 10 or so. It tried to follow H.G.Wells' version, updated and Hollywoodized for sure. Something that was written 107 years ago doesn't play to the same crowd today.

I thought it was pretty cool, I read the book a while ago but from what I remember it followed it pretty well. Some of the scenes from the original movie are in the new one too.

I was hoping for the atomice bomb blast scene. Maybe a few other things that could have been updated on it as well.
Knowing it is a remake, I didn't expect much and sat down for a take it as it is film for what ever it's worth.

I enjoyed the film. Great special effects, well done.

It was funnest when the younger people started questioning the film (Afterwards) I had to speak up and tell'em it was a remake. Most didn't know. And I told them it was a B&W film. Being so old, spec/effcts are like kid level in a comparo of todays stuff.
I finished up in telling them, "See the first one and you'll really like the new one."

just burnt it and the orig on DVD [smilie=e: . so I got both to watch anytime. ahhhh the internet. [smilie=b:

think I would give it a 8/10 also... thing about remaking a movie Icon like that is that you can not change the plot very much...it would be like remaking the life story of someone and start changing the facts.. I found it to be as intertaining as the original..

Piracy Sammy. There are a large number of people who make their living from the entertainment industry. The costs of piracy usually don't come from the multi-gazillion dollar a year suit, but the low rung guys. And there may be one or two guys on this board who are hooked into the entertainment industry that are dependant on it to make a living. [smilie=e:

It ain't a gray monolith. There's actually people involved.

oh. well since cassett tapes, vhs tapes, etc..were made and alotted one to reproduce copies of media, this isn't any different. only it can be done in mass amounts.

Well - whether you steal something electronically or actually rip it off from the video/CD store, it's still theft.

It's kind of depressing...at least from my perspective.

what world are you two living in? you's think police officers are angels and perfect?:D tell me one person on this planet that hasen't stolen something directly or indirectly at least once! once you tape a song, tape a movie off tv, etc... you're breaking copyright laws. I'm not going to continue this foolish discussion. [smilie=e:

Speaking for myself, I'm living in the world where you drop your guard in a post and I step in and reply POW, right in the old kisser.

Besides, I thought only people in PA said "you's". :D
