So every 4 - 5 years the boss n' I go to an industry trade show called Lighting Dimensions International. (LDI) It's a kinda big deal in the biz becuse all of the manufacturers and most of the "movers & shakers" attend. We are in need of upgrading our moving lights, small-scale automation consoles and we need to jump aboard the LED frenzy that's taking over. This is a good way for us to window - shop products and get some hands on demos with stuff we are interested in. Plus we re-make contacts with people that we don't get to see very often due to our remote location.

Anyway - this year's conference is in Vegas. Last time I attended LDI it was there as well, although I have attended LDI in Dallas & Orlando as well. I like the Vegas location because there's more cool stuff to do for cheap/free in the evenings and the beer is cheap. (Plus you get to drink it as you wander the strip....how cool is that?)

Now for the coolest part:

The boss has decided that my wife deserves a bonus this year because she has to put up with both of us. So she gets to attend as well - he's covering the flight and the extra room. It's only 3 - 4 days, but that should be enough time for us to have some fun and blow the little bit of cash we have. (We don't gamble, so beer and food will be our only vices.)

I'm pretty excited, 'cuz me n' Mrs. Nodda haven't had a real vacation together for a lot of years. (Unless you count driving to Devil's Lake to meet Stretch & pick up parts...):D

Sounds like fun. I remember you telling me about the last time you went to Vegas. I believe there was a lot more beer in that story than anything else. :D You should tell them to have show in April so you can attend Mopars At The Strips. Anyway, have a good time. Say hi to Celine Dion for me. :D

The beer is at nite. :D One has to be coherent at the trade show - we make some pretty important decisions based on what we see there...

Celine Dion?

Blick.

Well - I plan to have a good time with wifey. Truth is, I've either been so busy at work or so focused on being tight with my money because of the Demon that I haven't really been very good to her lately. I've decided that this trip is very important and well - if it messes up the car budget, and the things gotta sit for another year - so be it - time to get my priorities back in line.

Yup, life is more important than cars. Enjoy yourself nodda, you've earned it. :)

If you plan to splurge on a show - avoid Lance Burton's show. As good a magician as he is, I really think he's bored. i was embarassed at how many times I spoted the "moves" that make the tricks work.

You old softy, you. :)

Have a great time!

Glad to hear of this, Nodda... nice to know the two of you can get away--really away--for a spell. She's really gotten behind you on this Demon project (possibly because it's more difficult to hear you swear from back there :D ) so she certainly deserves it.
